
LAGOS APC LEADER DARE SETONJI BABATUNDE HAILS INTERIOR MINISTER TUNJI-OJO’S GIANT STRIDES

A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Badagry Division in Lagos State, Hon. Dare Setonji Babatunde has commended the giant strides being recorded as the Minister of Interior, Hon. in the country.
Babatunde who is a staunch member of the party in Olorunda local government area in the center of Excellence stated that
since assuming office as Minister, Tunji-Ojo has rapidly transformed the ministry into a dynamic powerhouse of transformation.
Hon. Babatunde expressed that the ministry has witnessed unprecedented developments from the introduction of the e-Visa system to the automation of passport applications.
“These initiatives have not only enhanced efficiency but also restored public trust in government processes as the youthful Minister has demonstrated an uncommon determination for excellence and a drive that have significantly advanced the mandates of the Ministry of Interior and its agencies”.
“One of his most notable achievements is the clearance of over 204,000 passport backlogs within his first few months in office. This feat, coupled with the deployment of e-Gates across international airports has positioned Nigeria as a leader in digital identity and governance”.
The APC leader commended Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo’s drive to decongest correctional facilities that led to the release of 4,068 low-risk inmates, saving the government over ₦3 billion annually in feeding costs.
Hon. Babatunde stressed that rehabilitation of correctional centres has restored dignity and functionality to Nigeria’s penal system, emphasising that the result is evident in the way and manner he transformed the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, FCT, as well as other centres to world-class standard.
“Under his leadership, the approval for the relocation of 29 custodial centres, which have been compromised by urbanization, signals a decisive move toward humane and secure correctional facilities”.
“He has also overseen the commissioning of operational vehicles for the transportation of inmates, and significantly improved the Correctional Information Management System (CIMS), enabling better case management and transparency in inmate rehabilitation”.
“The launch of the Safe School Initiative, Agro Rangers, and Mining Marshals are further testaments to his proactive approach in addressing contemporary threats such as school abductions and illegal mining”.
The APC leader said Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has succeeded in rekindling the hope of Nigerians especially the youths in democratic governance just as people have begin to trust more younger generations with public office.
“The appointment of Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister of Interior is a bold and commendable testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering belief in the capacity and vibrancy of Nigerian youths”.
“By entrusting such a critical national portfolio to a young and dynamic leader, the President has not only demonstrated his commitment to inclusive governance but also inspired a generation to dream beyond boundaries”, Hon. Dare Setonji Babatunde stressed.
