AKURE PROFESSIONALS LIONS CLUB DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO 2000 BENEFICIARIES

The Akure Professionals Lions Club under District 404A1 of Lions Club International has provided food items to selected members of the public in Ondo State.
The items include Rice, Beans, Gaari, Pupuru as well as sachets of pepper paste, onions and seasonings.
Presenting the items in Akure the Ondo State capital, the President of Akure Professionals Lions Club, Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu said the development is in line with the policy of the international organisation to ensure that lives are touched.
Ademosu who also doubles as the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Public and Integovernmental Relations said the distribution is not limited to the festive season as plans are underway to make it periodic in line with standard already set by members.
The president assured that various programmes and projects already identified by her tenure are being worked on with a target to touch lives of the less privileged and the vulnerable in the society.
In her words, “I am bold to say that our impacts in our communities with substantiated evidences of quality performance would sustained and improved upon”.
“The activities we plan to undertake fall within the mandate of Lionism and we believe they will impart the lives of the poor and vulnerable children in the areas of literacy, hunger and poverty”, Ademosu added.
Similarly, immediate past president of the organization, Lion Sanya Adedipe said Lions Club International has always identifed with those who require assistance, noting that projects carried out by members have played significant roles in complimenting efforts of government.
“We have increased awareness and visibility of the club through our activities both at district and club levels while free diabetes test and blood pressure checks were carried out just as free eye testing and counselling were achieved in conjunction with Ondo State Ministry of Health”, Adedipe said.
Another member of the Club, Lion Dolapo Gbadebo who spoke with newsmen at the event called on well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to partner with the club for more results.
