One of the programs of the 10th senate majority leader, Distinguished Senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele, a.k.a MOB, that is designed to bring meaningful and impactful dividend of democracy to the people of his senatorial district, berthed in Ikoro Ekiti on Monday, November 4, 2024.
It will be recalled that MOB had assured the people of Ikoro Ekiti of impactful representation during the electioneering campaign for his current ticket. He had equally promised to facilitate life changing programs and projects to the community.
MOB, the promise keeper as he is fondly called, now walks the talk! In addition to the already facilitated, but yet to be installed 500KVA transformer that is designed to boost electricity supply to Ikoro Ekiti, the community took delivery of 47 units of industrial solar lights with poles few days ago.
The items were received by a son of the soil and SLA to the Senate President, Hon. Gboyega Ajayi, who led the contractor to the Olukoro-in-council.
During the brief occasion, Chief Adebomi Adeyeye, the Ominio of Ikoro Ekiti and spokesperson of the Olukoro-in-council profusely thanked the senate leader for keeping his words. He assured him of the support and appreciation of Ikoro people.
“On behalf of Olukoro-in-council and, all the sons and daughters of Ikoro Ekiti, I sincerely thank Senator Opeyemi Bamidele for what he has done for us. Permit me to act Oliver Twist here. Please tell him we are expecting more from him in the areas of infrastructure like this and employment for our youth. I assure MOB of the support and appreciation of Ikoro people. We are not ingrates in Eso-obe”, Chief Ominio said.
Hon. Ajayi responded by thanking the Olukoro-in-council and Eso-obe in general. He reaffirmed the commitment of Senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele towards ensuring that every part of Ekiti central senatorial district feels the impact of and enjoys life-touching dividends of democracy.
The senate leader has facilitated the construction of roads, libraries, mini-stadiums, boreholes, blocks of class rooms with a promise to do more.
MOB’s “let there be light project” just berthed in Ikoro Ekiti but the ship is still on the move. “Things can only get better.” Ajayi concluded.
