
RUFUS GIWA POLYTECHNIC APPOINTS NEW ACTING REGISTRAR, REITERATES COMMITMENT TO INSTITUTIONAL EXCELLENCE
The newly appointed Acting Registrar of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo Mr Olugbenga Michael Oloye has reiterated his commitment to restoring the institution’s registry to its former glory, ensuring it remains the hub of all administrative activities.
Mr. Oloye, who made this assertion on Monday, 17″ February 2025 during a meeting with the senior administrative officers and chief executive officers held at the institution’s Academic Board Chamber, said it was time for the entire registry staff to raise and work together to move the institution forward. During the first official duty as the Acting Registrar, Mr Oloye charged the senior registry staff in attendance to live by example, promoting a culture of excellence, ethics, and accountability.
According to him, the time has come for all members of staff to work together to redeem the image of the registry and the institution.
He noted that to make the institution great again is a task that requires the support and cooperation of all members of staff.
“We must strive to do what is right, avoid unethical practices, and adhere to the principles enshrined in the staff manual”, he said.
He explained that when the staff manual is sidelined, the established structure of the polytechnic would suffer setbacks.
The Acting Registrar also emphasised the importance of staff welfare, decent dressing and corporate behaviour.
He assured that, as the new manager of the affairs of the institution’s registry, there would be training and retraining of staff for efficiency and optimal performance.
He, therefore, urged staff members to support and cooperate with him in his mission to make Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo a reputable organisation and a great place to work.
Speaking during the forum, Comrade Saka-Olokungboye Nurudeen, Chairman of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP), commended the Acting Registrar for the initiative to call a meeting of this nature which according to him was last held in 2013.
He asserted that there was indeed a need for the repositioning of the institution’s registry. He promised to support and cooperate with the Acting Registrar on his mission.
He called on him to continue to prioritize the welfare of staff and provide a clear direction for the registry as these would go a long way to bring about the desired improvement in the operations of the registry and the institution at large.
The meeting was well-attended by senior administrative officers, including Mr. Akinsanmi Ayodeji, Director of Academic Affairs; Mr. Gbenga Ademiluyi, the Administrative Assistant to the Rector; Mr. Cyril Adeniyi, Mr. Bayo Elebute, Director of Student Affairs: Director of Records, Research and Statistics; Mr. Omololu Ogunmola, Director of Senior Staff Personnel: Mr. Dotun Arijeniwa, Director of Academic Board; Mr. Olaposi Ale and other senior registry staff.
Recently, Mr. Oloye, a seasoned administrator was appointed as the new Acting Registrar after the retirement of the former Acting Registrar.
