… Reaffirms Commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Re-election Bid
In a grand celebration filled with cultural display, traditional reverence and distinguished guests, Dr. Barr. Olumuyiwa Adu, a renowned philanthropist and visionary leader was honoured with a prestigious Achievers Award in recognition of his unparalleled humanitarian gestures and community-focused interventions.
The award presentation took place at the 10th Coronation Anniversary of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, CFR, the Deji of Akure, held at the historic Democracy Park, Akure, on Saturday, 19th July 2025.
The event brought together an assemblage of traditional rulers, political stalwarts, captains of industry, and indigenes of Akure Kingdom and beyond, all united in celebration of a decade of purposeful and transformative leadership by the Deji.
In the midst of the festivities, Dr. Adu was singled out for commendation due to his sustained investment in human capital development, empowerment programmes, educational initiatives and unwavering commitment to grassroots development across Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
While receiving the award, Dr. Adu expressed deep gratitude to the Deji of Akure for the honour and used the moment to reaffirm his lifelong dedication to selfless service and the advancement of humanity.
“This recognition is not just a personal honour, but a call to greater responsibility,” he noted.
“It further encourages me to continue working for the betterment of society, especially the underserved and vulnerable.”
The ceremony witnessed the presence of eminent personalities including the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and former Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, both of whom took turns to applaud Dr. Adu’s unwavering spirit of philanthropy, integrity, and community development.
They noted that his gestures have transformed countless lives and elevated the standards of service delivery at the grassroots level.
He reiterated his full and unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 citing the president’s bold reforms and pro-people agenda as key drivers of national renewal.
In a moving highlight of the day, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, CFR, personally acknowledged Dr. Adu’s unwavering commitment to human welfare and grassroots upliftment, describing him as “a man of purpose whose love for humanity transcends politics or ambition.”
The monarch prayed for continued strength and divine guidance upon him.
The people of Akure Kingdom, in show of love and allegiance, paid deep homage to the Deji, celebrating his ten years of wise leadership, cultural revival, and peacebuilding. Traditional dancers, chiefs, women groups, and youth representatives all came forward to offer their goodwill and reaffirm their loyalty to the royal stool.
The 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Deji of Akure thus served not only as a celebration of royalty, but as a powerful platform to recognize and honour transformative leaders like Dr. Barr. Olumuyiwa Adu, whose selfless contributions continue to uplift lives and inspire a new generation of servant-leaders.
