

Delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from wards 4 and 5 in Ekiti West local government area have pitched their tent with the leading contestant for house of representatives seat in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2, Dele Philips as their candidate in the forthcoming primary elections.
The party leaders who spoke at a meeting in Erijiyan-Ekiti on Saturday emphasized that they are equally prepared to work for the victory of the international business mogul at the general elections in 2023.
According to former secretary of the local government, Hon. Claudius Adetule, Mr. Dele Philips has demonstrated some qualities that had made him the most preferred among all the aspirants.
Hon. Adetule stressed that party leadership as well as communities have benefitted from his generosity and willingness to impart on the people and the society.
Similarly, other party leaders, Otunba Dayo Famoyegun and Hon. Segun Olatunbosun said Mr. Dele Philips had created a new orientation that could guarantee a robust and transparent representation.
They challenged present representatives at various quarters to point to projects or items that underline their presence at the various positions they occupy.
Similarly, Vice Chairman of Ekameta LCDA, Chief Ebenezer Adebusuyi made reference to various interventions carried out by the leading contestant and the impact those programmes have made in the lives of the communities and individuals.
Chief Adebusuyi who is also the Director of Administration of Dele Phillips Foundation explained that the bridge linking Ogunwa and Oroke was constructed by the foundation while ninety-nine women benefitted from the foundation’s empowerment programme from the thirty-three wards in the constituency.

In his reaction, the house of representatives hopeful, Mr. Dele Philips said the level of support being received from both party leaders and followers have kept the hope alive.
He assured that the people would witness a great difference when given the opportunity to represent them at the Green Chambers.
Mr. Philips stressed that empowerment programmes and projects to be carried out in the constituency would be executed transparently with the involvement of the stakeholders.
“I will ensure that the party leaders, especially the delegates are given sense of belonging. They will be treated as the real shareholders and owners of the party unlike when they are abandoned after elections,” Philips added.
He therefore urged the people of Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero local government areas to expect programmes and policies that would ensure better standard of living.
