
39 ONDO RESIDENTS BENEFIT FROM AIYEDATIWA’S MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
The Ondo State Government has re-affirmed its commitment to the provision of qualitative and affordable healthcare to the residents of the state as part of the “Our Ease” Agenda of the present administration of the state, which emphasizes Efficient Healthcare and Social Economic Welfare to all and sundry in the state.
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa was speaking during the distribution of cheques for medical assistance to some residents with medical challenges on Friday in Akure the state capital.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Ajaka emphasized the need for a proactive approach by the present administration to provision of qualitative and affordable healthcare to the people towards enhancing qualitative health delivery.
The Governor said the state government has embarked on enhancing health facilities across the Eighteen Local Government areas of the state.
He said his administration has also provided six different secondary facilities in six general hospitals in the state in addition to the State Specialist Hospitals to ensure that Healthcare providers operate in a decent and friendly environment, stressing that government would continue to work assiduously for the overall Social and Economic development of the state at all times.
The Governor advised residents to continue compliment the efforts of the government by Keying into the Contributory Health Scheme in its bid to achieve universal health coverage.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health Dr. Adeniran Ikuomola also emphasized on the need for the people to collaborate with the state Government through the Ondo State Contributory health Commission to ensure that their health needs are met at all times.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board, Ayodele Adiji thanked the state Government for making the medical assistance fund available for the beneficiaries which he said would go a long way in enhancing healthy living.
In his response, one of the beneficiaries Hon. Ayoola Aribisala expressed his delight on behalf of others and thanked the state Government for the kind gesture.
