REFRAIN FROM ATTACK ON Ekiti ELDERS – EKITI RENAISSANCE MOVEMENT WARNS
Ekiti Renaissance Movement has cautioned all former Governors in Ekiti State not to embark on any vitriolic attack on reputable elites who had chosen to show interest in the development of Ekiti State.
Ekiti Renaissance Movement admonished that
not all objective assessment of individuals on the performance of previous Administration in the state should be seen as politically motivated rather the dynamic nature of the society should be given a serious thought.
This appeal is at heel of the personal assessment on the previous administrations by the legal juggernaut and reputable educationist in the State , who is the founder of Afe Babalola university ,Aare Afe Babalola who was down to heart with his assessment of the previous administrations in the State.
Ekiti Renaissance Movement is of the view that no amount of application of lexical and grammatical impropriety by any of the previous Governors can absolve them from any principle of comparative narrative by any bonafide and true born citizen of Ekiti because there is always room for and need to ginger any sitting Governor to do more than his predecessors through critical and objective assessment by stakeholders and elderstatemen.
In a statement issued and signed by the acting National coordinator of Ekiti Renaissance Movement Mr Francis Ogunrotila; he posited that nobody who had chosen to seek elective position at any level of governance should be fearful of public assessment of his or her tenure.
The statement admonished the former Governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi to refrain from further attack on the legal luminary because he has every right to his personal opinion and assessment not because he is one of the architects of the creation of Ekiti State but also as a true son of Ekiti land
The present comparable expedition is a pointer to the present Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Honourable Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to do his best without being vindictive nor patronage of any means because everything in life is transient.
All former Governors of Ekiti State even starting from the military Administrators should allow posterity to judge their tenures instead of taking any scratching criticism as an attack to their expired administrations , hence they should not go overboard in order not to allow their emotional reactions to bastardise their good characters.
“All aspiring Governors in Ekiti State should take a good cue from our founding fathers who had exhibited ethos of good character, conscience and egalitarian disposition of better quality service to humanity and Ekitis in general”. The statement added.
