I have four girls, growing fast into maturity
Someday, I’ll give their hands in marriage.
Please note my language. I said, “I’ll give their hands” in marriage. I didn’t say “I’ll GIVE THEM OUT” in marriage.
I’ll never give my daughters out to any man!
I’ll at best give their hands in marriage, so long their lives are secured
If at any time I sense that the one who professed so much love to her has suddenly turned into a beast, I’ll go with my drivers, with as much trucks as needed, to move her belongings back into my house
Each of my daughters has a room in my nine bedroom castle. Even after I give their hands in marriage, their rooms remain theirs!
I’m raising them to manage their matrimonial challenges with their spouses, as no marriage is perfect. Even with their mum, we had and still have our very challenging moments. So, they must not bring every conflict to my notice or seek to flee at the slightest provocation
But whenever he becomes violent and abusive, it’s time to return home
With my two arms, I’ll welcome them back to their rooms, with all the love, luxury and peace they deserve.
If the beast in him is per adventure cast out, let him come fetch her sober, in the company of her parents and relatives, with a fresh agreement in black and white.
I’ll rather bring my daughter home alive, than have her brought to me in casket!
(Dedicated to the memory of Osinachi and all who died in abusive marriage)
