The Eso Obe Youth Movement in Ikoro-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State has thrown its weight behind a leading house of representatives aspirant for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency Two on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Dele Phillips.
The central federal constituency two is made up of Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero local government areas of the Fountain of Knowledge.
Arising from its quaterly meeting in Ikoro-Ekiti on Saturday, members of the socio-cultural organization who cut across various disciplines agreed that the antecedents of the international business mogul attracted their degree of support at a period when robust representation is being sought at various levels.
The leader of the movement, Mr. Iyiola Adetola said “with the level of global interconnectivity being witnessed, there is the need to think ahead of our immediate environment as we should focus more on available better opportunities that can impart positively on the youths as well as the elderly”.
He added that Mr. Dele Phillips had demonstrated a high degree of determination to be greatly involved in human and societal development, especially with the achievements already recorded through the establishment of Dele Phillips Foundation which he said investigations showed was, and still being executed without political or social discrimination.
In the same vein, secretary of the socio-cultural organization, Mrs. Funmilayo Ayeni who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) attested to the impact of the aspirant on the party structures in the local government area as well as the state level.
Mrs. Ayeni therefore urged delegates in the forthcoming primary elections to choose wisely in the overall interest of the people and the land.
Reacting to the development, the Director of Administration of Dele Phillips Foundation, Chief Ebenezer Adebusuyi said records have shown that Mr. Dele Phillips remains the most qualified and the best aspirant for the party in the constituency.
Adebusuyi stressed that structures and processes have been put in place to ensure that the delegates are given sense of belonging not only as stakeholders but also shareholders in the party, assuring that the people is the focus of the aspirant.
”Mr. Dele Phillips is ready to offer us quality representation and transparency that will attract developmental projects that will change the face of our society and also influence the lives of the people positively”, he added.
