GUN RUNNING ALLEGATION: PDP DEFENDS ONDO HOUSE OF REPS CANDIDATE, AKINGBASO

The PDP in Idanre local government area of Ondo state has asked the electorate in idanre/ifedore federal constituency to disregard certain accusations that house of rep candidate for Idanre/Ifedore constituency , Mr Festus Akingbaso popularly known as Fessy West was stock piling arms for election.
The party alleged that the false claims were sponsored by a serving Member of the house of Representatives.
Addressing journalists in Akure, the Director, Media and publicity for Idanre PDP, Mr Raymond Fashoranti described the accusation as a cheap blackmail and campaign of calumny which the party would not take lightly.
He said “Over the weeks, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Nigerians have read different captions circulating the social media written by the APC Member House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye on character assassination and putting our candidate, Hon. Festus Akingbaso in the picture of his planning to cause mayhem in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency. “I hear say the PDP candidate don buy plenty guns for my constituency” and “Instead make this Egbon go hide those guns. He dey report me up and down. Dey form Pity Politics up & down. We know where you keep those guns and the guys. Time shall tell”. Hon. Adefisoye said in his social media handle”
Mr Fashoranti called on security agencies in Ondo state to as a matter of urgency investigate false claims sponsored by the said house of rep lawmaker on the social media against the PDP candidate to forestall breach of peace in idanreland.
“The PDP urges the general public to disregard this cheap blackmail and also be aware of the shenanigans and plots of Small Alhaji to import guns and other deadly weapons into the circulation considering his past deals especially during the last election campaign.
We also call on security agencies to swift into proactive investigation into the matter as this uncircumcised act of the MHR could lead to violence before, during and after election if unchecked” Fashoranti noted.
Another chieftain of the party and former council boss, Mr Taye Sunday noted that the PDP house of representatives candidate for Idanre/Ifedore constituency, Mr Festus Akingbaso was a peace loving politician who was always concerned with giving the people new lease of life through live touching projects dotting the landscape of Idanre.
“Hon. Festus Akingbaso Fessywest, the PDP candidate for Idanre/Ifedore is a peaceful man who puts the welfare of human beings as his major priority. His caring heart is demonstrated in his giant projects across the constituency” Sunday Submitted.
Other chieftains including Mr Mayokun Akinmoladun, Adegbeyeni Olatubosun, Ademoye Idowu and Akinrinlola Akinsote expressed confidence in Akingbasao capability to do more in Idanre/ Ifedore federal constituency.
