
EKITI GOVERNOR OYEBANJI FULFILLS PROMISE AS CHEQUES WORTH 915MILLION NAIRA WERE PRESENTED TO LOCAL AND STATE RETIREES
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has distributed gratuity cheques to both State and Local Government retirees in line with his promise to make the welfare of the people the priority of his administration.
For Local Government retirees , Mr Governor had distributed gratuity Cheques worth of N130M few months ago while gratuity Cheques worth of N215M were distributed to another set on Monday .
For State retirees , gratuity cheques worth N700M were distributed to them same day.
This is in addition to regular payment of pension same time serving civil servants are paid their salaries.
During the electioneering campaigns,Governor Oyebanji made a promise to make life worth living for all Ekiti pensioners when he engaged them . In fact , his promises to them were put into black and white and duly signed by him in their presence .
Mr Governor takes the promise paper along with him every time he has a program with the pensioners.
Meanwhile,something uncommon happened at the event yesterday, the NUP chairman ,in his speech made reference to one of the retirees ,Mr Ojo Williams who had long wished to buy a new mattress as soon as he receives his gratuity.
Upon hearing this , Mr Governor instructed that a new mattress , bedsheets with pillows be bought for Mr Williams immediately so he doesn’t have to buy from his gratuity again .
The most amazing moment at the event was when the retirees created an instant prayer session and prayed for the Governor .
