In a recent event, Chairman of Ondo State Accountants Forum, Ayodele Thompson Adekanbi declared that all hands shall be on deck to ensure the labors of the past leaders would not be in vain, stating firmly that the mandate given him was a call to service.
This declaration was made at the swearing-in ceremony of the new executives which held at the Treasury House complex office of the State Accountant-General, whereby Mr Adekanbi described his new appointment as a top level honor bestowed upon him.
“Bearing in mind the sacrifices borne by our progenitors, there should be a constant drive to leave behind a dependable and lasting legacy for the generation of Accountants finding their way into the service.”
Mr Adekanbi seized the opportunity to commend his predecessor and the pioneer chairman, Mr Toyin Mogaji FCNA, noting that his laudable achievements would not be forgotten in a hurry.
Speaking further in his remarks, the new Chairman harped on prioritizing the welfare of members. Mr Adekanbi promised regular healthcare routine with the support of healthcare service providers to run check ups and health talks to ensure members maintain good health.
“We shall expand your access to funds through the establishment of cooperative and thrift society; diversify members financial risk against hazards, ill health and endless wait on retirement packages”
Adekanbi assured that the forum shall engage stakeholders’ in funding local training and provide opportunities to access free/ subsidized trainings to enhance their skill development.
Dissatisfied with the rhetoric that impedes Accountants from being elevated to the position of Permanent Secretaries, he assured that it shall become a thing of the past, noting that the executive members shall work as a team to ensure the pursuit of forum members career fulfillment, under the profession.”We shall serve in fairness, accountability and accuracy rendering the best in service” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, the erstwhile Chairman, Mr Toyin Mogaji appreciated the Permanent Secretary/Accountant-General for giving his team the prerogative to showcase their ability which enabled them to record successes.
Mr Mogaji appreciated members for reposing confidence in them, he encouraged full support to the new executives while imploring the incoming executives to maintain the standards already set and improve on it.
