YULETIDE SEASON: EKITI REP, FATOBA TO DISTRIBUTE OVER N4 MILLION, 3000 BAGS OF RICE

The House of Representatives member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1 and Chairman, House on Information, National Orientation Agency, Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve has earmarked over 3000 bags of rice and four million naira for distribution to contituents as Christmas and new year gifts
Fatoba revealed this during a stakeholders’ meeting with party leaders of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ado, Irepodun-Ifelodun on Wednesday.
According to the breakdown given by the lawmaker on how the rice and cash would be distributed to constituents, he said 6 bags and a sum of one hundred fifty thousand naira each would go to all the 24 wards in Ado, Irepodun-Ifelodun local governments while 6 bags and two hundred naira would be shared among the local government party Executives in the two local governments. Also 87 bags has been earmarked by the lawmaker for some selected leaders in his constituency. Others to benefit from the Christmas largesse included the Okada riders, driver’s unions, student unions, artisans, Iyalojas and widows.
The lawmaker who met separately with the party leaders in their respective local governments thanked them for the support given to him and the state governor, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
He commended the governor for his giant strides in the last one year which has seen the state moving forward more than expected.
“Let me start by thanking you for the support given to me and the governor, His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. I am extremely grateful because without your support nothing would have been
achieved.
“I want to also commend the Governor for his giant strides. The massive development we are presently witnessing in the state is a testimony to the beauty of continuity we clamoured for during the electioneering campaign.
“This engagement is initiated by me to reveal to you what has been earmarked to each ward in food and cash for Christmas celebration. I learnt that my Senior colleague Senator Opeyemi Bamidele who is also the Senate Leader has given out something to all the wards for Xmas. The little I will be given out please take it with love.
“For all the wards in Ado, Irepodun-Ifelodun local governments, 6 bags of rice of 50kg and 150 thousand naira has been earmarked while 3 bags with 100 thousand naira each will going to the local government Excos in Ado, Irepodun-Ifelodun. We have earmarked 87 bags for some selected leaders in the two local governments while provision has also been made for the Okada riders, driver’s unions, student unions, artisans, iyalojas and widows in my constituency”
The House Committee chairman stated further in his address that he was unable to be in regular touch with them due to his tight schedules at the National Assembly but made them to know that he has them in mind. He also highlighted some of his achievements in the last six months after his inauguration as Reps member which includes installation of solar streetlights and boreholes in Ado, Irepodun-Ifelodun, empowerment of farmers with cocoa seedlings and cash.
The lawmaker added that he has secured employment for 7 constituents, started work on construction of Olohunda road and also provided medical equipments to Irewolede health center.
“I would have met with you since but was busied with activities at the National Assembly for the progress of our constituency but I promise to continue reaching out to you. I want to use this opportunity to seek for forgiveness from those I might have offended in one way or the other.
“In the last six months that I have inaugurated, we have been able to execute some projects which include installation of solar streetlights at Isato Ekiti in Ado, Eyio, Esure, orun, Afoa and Ulomu-Ekiti. Installation of solar borehole at Ago-Aduloju, Ugbogun and Urasa in Ado-Ekiti. We have started construction of Olohunda road, renovate and supply medical equipments to Erelu Health Center at Fajuyi estate.
“I have also secured secured seven employment opportunities for constituents”
During the engagement with party stakeholders, constituents came to commend the lawmaker for his laudable achievements and prayed for his continual success.
The stakeholders’s meeting had in attendance selected leaders from each ward, party chairmen, local government Excos, local government chairmen and the newly elected ones including the LCDAs. Also in attendance were representatives of Driver’s unions, Okada riders, student unions and artisans.
