The Chief Judge who expressed delight with the taken-off of the new system, said some of the judiciary staff and members of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA have been trained in the system for effective usage.
“Today’s launching is a significant milestone in the history of the state in pursuit of justice, for the first time we introduce the e-filing system of the court processes.
“We all know that the world is going digital. Some states like Lagos and Osun, Ekiti, and Oyo have been operating the e-filing system but Ondo state is still operating manually.
“We have now come to change the narratives so that we could join our fellow states that are now the operating system for easy access to the court process.”
The Chief Judge appealed to those who are not technologically literate to put themselves together to be able to go digital as part of measures to reduce the rigor being encountered in the old system.
Earlier in her opening address, the Chief Registrar, Yetunde Ajanaku noted that the system enabled a transition from the old method of manual filing of court process to a user-friendly automated system.
She said private citizens do not need to come to the high court for any court process, they can now do it in their comfort zone wherever they are.
The Acting Chairman of ODIRS, Adebayo Rojugbokan in his remark thanked the judiciary for the laudable initiative, saying the OndoCoMiS would not only automate the judiciary payment but also improve the state revenue.
In his brief on the system’s operational modalities, the representative of Cinfores Limited, John Raphael reiterated that the OndoCoMiS is a robust system that would make the court easily accessible to everyone.
He emphasised the system’s features, and benefits including various stages of the system, registration of lawyers, court personnel and private citizens on the OndoCoMiS portal.
He assured the CoMiS is a robust system that effortlessly manages all court processes such as E-Filling, E-Assesment, payment, Case Suit Number Assignment, case management, Applications Management, and Probate Management, among others with an embedded system for affidavit generation and validation.
His words: With this system, affidavits are safe secure, and verifiable. The CoMiS is the court’s present and future. It is currently defining courts as a service rather than a location, through improved service delivery, which will support effective justice administration.
