…As Oyo Governor Makinde Warns Against Electoral Fraud
Ahead of next month’s off -cycle gubernatorial election, in Ondo state, the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate,HE, Agboola Ajayi, has promised to construct a dry sea port at Ore town in order to enhance economic activities in the town
The Gubernatorial candidate and the Ondo PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council were led by Oyo state governor, and leader of the party in the South West, Engr Seyi Makinde, moved to Odigbo Local government area of the state on Thursday as the team paid a courtesy visit on the traditional ruler of Odigbo town , the Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, HRM Oba (Dr) Rufus Akinrimade Adebusoye 1, who praised Governor Makinde for his exceptional leadership and also acknowledged Agboola Ajayi as a familiar figure.
He assured the PDP of his prayers as well as that of Baales, being his other traditional heads and market operators ( olojas) in his domain.
Pledging to always look for good things for his entire domain and environs, the first class Monarch, said the people of the state are poised to make a decisive choice that will better their lots on November 16 when the election is billed to hold.
The popular monarch was joined during the interaction at his palace when the campaign train visited, by prominent chiefs, including Baales of Ago Ose, Ita Olowo, Omi Lede, Otun Yegunwa, Olojas of Olofefe, Adaja, Agbagun, Olowo, Omifon, Iya Alajes, Iyaloja, and high-ranking chiefs of the kingdom.
While addressing the crowd at the venue of the rally at Ore government field in Ore,, Engr. Clement Faboyede, Director-General of the PDP campaign committee, lamented the lack of development in the state since the PDP left office.
He assured the people that Hon. Agboola Ajayi, would not disappoint, citing Governor Makinde’s mentorship as a guarantee of good governance.
On his part, the PDP candidate, expressed gratitude at the kind gesture the people showed to him at the rally and the whole of Odigbog Local of Odigbo Kingdom stating his commitment to security, infrastructure development, and social welfare.
Agboola Ajayi further outlined his vision for the Odigbo LG, promising to construct a hinterland sea port before the end of his first term.
He also vowed to transform the area into a modern city and commercial hub, providing free medical care for the aged and children.
The PDP candidate’s promises were greeted with wild jubilation by the expectant crowd and people of Odigbo as they eagerly anticipate transformation.
The Gubernatorial candidate also assured the people of Ondo State that nobody can rig this coming Gubernatorial election as everything will be done to forestall such action from anybody or group of persons , he urged the people to come out in large numbers on election day to vote PDP but that they should also be vigilant in protecting their votes.
Governor Seyi Makinde, in his remarks at the campaign ground stressed the importance of the November 16 election, describing it as a crucial turning point for Ondo State.
“The natural resources in Ondo State are enough to take the citizens from poverty to prosperity,” he further urged the people to shun electoral malpractices and vote for the right candidate and party which is Agboola Ajayi and the PDP.
Gov Makinde’s words resonated with the crowd, many of whom lamented, that they have suffered under the many years of underdevelopment of the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress ( APC) in Ondo State and that they are now ready to vote massively for the PDP..
Governor Makinde however assured the people that Agboola Alfred Ajayi if he becomes Governor cannot perform less than all the other PDP Governors in the South West who have been performing wonderfully well in their respective states .
The people all chorused that they can no longer go to farm as all their farmlands have been sold off to foreigners by APC government in Ondo State pleading that the PDP when it gets to government should come to their rescue
Some of the PDP leaders who accompanied the South West leader of the party, Governor Seyi Makinde and the Gubernatorial Candidate, H E Agboola Ajayi alongside his Deputy Governorship candidate , Hon Festus Akingbaso to the rally in Ore includes the State Chairman of the party and his State Working committee members , Rt (Hon ). Bakita Bello, the Chairman of the state campaign council, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso, Direction General , Operations of the campaign council, Hon Clement Faboyede, Director General Special Duties, Barr John Ola Mafo, the Secretary of the campaign council, Dr Deji Aseniserare among others .
