EKSU ALUMNI SOLIDARITY GROUP HAILS OYEBANJI’S GIANT STRIDES
…Wishes Governor and other Graduates of EKSU a more productive 2025
The Ekiti State University Alumni Solidarity Group has expressed the hope of a more productive Ekiti State under the continued leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, Former Global President, EKSU Alumni Association and member EKSU Alumni Solidarity Group for BAO, Asiwaju Oludotun Adetuberu PhD, the group expressed happiness that an alumnus of the school has succeeded in convincing the people that he means well for the the land and the residents.
Dr. Adetuberu who is currently the President of the Governing Council, Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management in Abuja emphasized that the Governor had rekindled the hope of the people in democratic governance.
According to him, testimonies by both political leaders and elder statesmen have proven that the call on Governor Oyebanji to run for another term is in the general interest of the entire state.

This is to extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for being a shining example of excellence and making the Ekiti State University Alumni proud.
Your leadership and achievements are testaments to the quality of education and values instilled in you during your time at the University. At a time like this, we say thank you Mr. Governor for your outstanding contributions to the State and for being an inspiration to us all.
1. Your Excellency, we are impressed by the impactful policy initiatives implemented since the inception of your administration. Notably, your efforts to engage and empower youths through various impactful and commendable agricultural programs by providing them with opportunities for economic growth and development, you are not only enhancing their livelihoods but also contributing to the nation’s food security and economic prosperity.
2. We have noted in good faith how you redeemed your manifestoe promises to give maximum attention to our aged parents who worked tirelessly for the betterment of our dear State and retired without taking their benefits but today HE, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has done what NAPOLEON failed to do by addressing and paying long abandoned arrears of their entitlements. Ekiti State Pensioners are singing praises you. We thank you for making us proud.
3. We noted as a body, the great infrastructural revolution of your administration, with particular reference to the quality of job done on the long abandoned Ado – Ifaki dualization, the historic on -going ring road, your initiative to construct a befitting 2km overhead bridge between new garage and Ajilosun to ease over congested traffic along the heart of the State capital. Your Excellency, we thank you for making us proud with more than 200 different road projects across the 38 Local Government Areas and LCDAs in Ekiti State.
4. Your Excellency, we thank you for putting smiles on the faces of Ekiti State workers by implementing the minimum wage policy with the best consequential adjustment in Nigeria, which cut across all levels including the political appointees.
5. Your Excellency, we commend you for paying the six months’ salary arrears owed to workers since 2018. While some may criticize us for acknowledging this achievement, we believe it’s essential to recognize your commitment to resolving longstanding issues including leave bonuses . What if you close your eyes against it? Whereas, it was not your administration that initially neglected these payments, your decision to address this matter demonstrates your dedication to the welfare of our citizens. By taking this step, you have validated our advocacy and agitation for a home-based and home-grown Governor, who truly understands the needs and challenges of our community. Thank you for your leadership and vision.
6. We thank you for the passion you showed to the less privileged in the society. Particularly, people with disabilities (PWD), they are now identified with dignity among other mortals , we are proud of you, Your Excellency.
7. Many of our members accused us that you have done a lot for BOUESTI, Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan and not done anything for EKSU. We referred them to the various projects you approved for EKSU under the Senate Leader’s Constituency Projects, such as construction of hostel accommodation for Medical students that got us the increase in the medical students quota, the 2km asphalt road networks from EKSU Alumni Village to College of Medicine, the EKSU FM radio station, the UN assisted project on agriculture to EKSU facilitated by Ojuolape , and recently the payment of two months 2018 subvention denied the University by past administration and many more projects you promised us with a heart desire to make EKSU a world class University. YE, for the very first time in 8 years, EKSU workers got their salaries in this December, their prayers are with you.
8. Your Excellency, we acknowledge your exceptional leadership and genuine approach towards addressing the challenges facing Ekiti State. While recognizing that no one is perfect, we boldly affirm that your willingness to accept corrections and feedback sets you apart as a leader. We respect the opinions of opposing views, but our observation of the alternatives presented reveals that they lack the vision and capacity to move Ekiti State forward. In fact, we believe that Ekiti has transcended their limitations, and it would be detrimental to the state’s progress to revert to outdated ideas. We also wish to express our appreciation for your contributions to the creation of Ekiti State during your tenure as Secretary to Chief Deji Fasuan’s led committee on State creation. Your efforts laid the foundation for the State’s growth, and it is essential that we defend and build upon this legacy.
9. Some communities have been left for more than 13 years in perpetual darkness but in less than a year in office, there was light in Omuo, Ijan, Ikogosi and other villages. Once again, you have done what NAPOLEON could not do, we thank you, Your Excellency.
10. We thank you for making Ekiti State one of the most peaceful State in Nigeria, we had our own challenges at a time but you raised your head up and re-strategized. Today we are celebrating in peace, EKSU Alumni Solidarity Group used this period to appreciate all the heads of Security Agencies in Ekiti State for the robust synergy, Special Adviser to Ekiti State Government on Security Matters, Director General Homeland Intelligence Agency, Commissioner of Police, Director, Department of State Services, Commandant, NSCDC , Commandant Amotekun Corps and Coordinator Non State Actors are well appreciated.
Your Excellency, you have played your part by making us proud and as a body, we are ready to give the required support at the appropriate time and it is time to tell the AJELEs that WON KI N GBA AKATA LOWO AKITI, WON KO NI GBA ILE BABA WA LOWO WA . When it is time for campaign, we are going to be there for you and this time double our mobilization just like the Global Alumni President said, ” BAO has made his second term mobilization more easier.
The above position is based on the various observations from our past Governors and elders in the State and we took time to review some of their comments.
During your first year anniversary, all the former Governors including, Chief Niyi Adebayo, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, and Dr. Kayode Fayemi at the Emmanuel Cathedral Church, Okesa, Ado-Ekiti, affirmed that you have done so well in your first year which necessitated their supports to your coming back in 2026. Former Governor Kayode Fayemi in his remarks after your second year in office, stated that “even the blind can see all the good works you have done for the people of Ekiti State”. Snr Dr Kayode Fayemi subsequently endorsed your second term of office. This assertion was further confirmed by the former Governor, Engr. Segun Adebayo Oni, few days ago commending you on various quality infrastructural revolution in Ekiti State. While former Governor Ayodele Fayose is not ready to compromise your passion for developmental initiative for anything.
As Alumni body, we appreciate all the former Governors for supporting Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as we assure you that we are going to double our mobilization.
We have also heard comments from Baba Afe Babalola, Aare Bamofin of Yorubaland, Chief Wole Olanipekun, CFR, SAN, Chief Deji Fasuan among other notable Ekiti Elders.
We have equally listened to Chief Dele Alake, Minister and the representative of Ekiti State at the federal cabinet, praising you for uniting all the past leaders with a view towards bringing peace and development to Ekiti State. This was further confirmed by His Excellency, the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima acknowledging your good deeds.
The traditional and religious leaders have also commended your exemplary behavior as a good listener. Furthermore, our esteemed Life Patron, the Distinguished Senate Leader, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has advocated for unity and cautioned AGENTS of distractions, urging that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji be allowed to address the state’s challenges and rectify past wrongs. I know that Late Barr. Bankole Ajayi is well pleased with this development in his grave because his heartfelt desires has been accomplished.
It’s equally of importance to acknowledge OUR ENDORSEMENT by various, groups, organizations, institutions, and all the APC political structures. We are indeed proud of our own BAO.
In conclusion, we are confident that Your Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, will make history as the first Governor of Ekiti State to secure consecutive electoral victories back to back. This prediction is bolstered by your outstanding performance, which has earned you widespread support across the State. Your leadership has brought unity and peace to Ekiti, and your commitment to the welfare of citizens is evident in your policies and initiatives. As you seek re-election in 2026, we firmly believe that your achievements and dedication will propel you to another term in office.
