NASRDA SPOKESMAN, FELIX ALE ACKNOWLEDGES ESTEEMED PRESENCE OF DIGNITARIES AT FATHER-IN-LAW’S BURIAL
…Underlines involvement of Governor Aiyedatiwa, former Governor Mimiko, Ambassador Omowa, former Transport Minister Adegoroye, Bishops Arogundade, Bada others
The Director of Media and Corporate Communication at the National Space Research and Development Agency(NASRDA), Dr. Felix Ale has acknowledged the esteemed presence of both individuals and organisations towards the success recorded during the burial of his Father-in-law, Hon(Chief) Fred Ojo Akinpelumi in Ondo City.
The Oka-Akoko-born Communication Scholar particularly appreciated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his involvement in making the events successful while also thanking former Governor Olusegun Mimiko for his fatherly roles.
He was speaking at Ondo city on Saturday at the end of a week-long rites of passage in honor of the late Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi in line with the culture and tradition of the Ekinmoguns.
Dr Ale also thanked the entire people of Ondo Kingdom for the honor bestowed on his late father in-law during the week-long activities which he said was spectacular and a way to encourage upcoming community leaders.
The burial of the former Chairman of Ondo West local government area and the Bobatolu of Ondo Kingdom was held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and climaxed at the Ondo Civic Centre where guests were treated to sumptuous meals with the popular Femi Solar on the band stand.
Dr. Ale appreciated the Lord Bishop of Ondo Catholic Diocese, Rt. Revd Jude Arogundade for presiding over the funeral service while emphasising the huge support received from the Bishop of Akoko Anglican Diocese,Rt Reverend Jacob Bada under whom Dr Ale was conferred with the Sacred Order of Crownhood of St Paul by the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion,Akoko Diocese
He also expressed gratitude to his boss, the Director-General of National Space Research and Development Agency, Dr. Mathew Adepoju and the entire management of the Agency.
Apart from Governor Aiyedatiwa and former Governor Mimiko, other notable personalities in attendance include Ambassador Roland Omowa, Bobagunwa of Okaland, Chief Segun Ategbole, former Transport Minister Ademola Adegoroye as well as representatives of Osemawe and Olubaka-in-Councils while members of the Ondo State council of Nigeria Union of Journalists led by the Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite.
The member representing Ondo East and Ondo West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Biola Makinde and former Chairmen of Ose, Ifedore and Ondo East local government areas, Dennis Alonge-Niyi, Adeluse Obe and Charles Adeduro who served while the Bobatolu of Ondo Kingdom was council Chairman graced the event.
The current Chairman of Ondo West local government area, Hon. Ayotunde Akinfolarin was also not left out
Also in attendance were Professor Makinde Olapegba- Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, University of Ibadan; Major General Ebenezer Oshunsan of the Nigeria Army Signals, Abuja as well as Professor Shyngle Kola Balogun of the University of Ibadan.
Dr. Ale stated that the attendance and good wishes received played significant roles in ensuring a befitting home-going and rites of passage for a man who lived not only for himself but for his community and all those who came across him.
The Ondo State born Federal Director also used the opportunity to condole with Governor Aiyedatiwa, members of the state executive council and the people of Akure on the death of the Secretary to State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi who he described as a civilised gentleman, prolific grassroots mobiliser as well as a God-fearing Philanthropist.
In his words, “I have had close contact with the late SSG even in my journalism days and during my sojourn as Chief Press Secretary in Ondo State, I can confirm that the late Oluwatuyi, popularly known as Tukana was an illustrious son of the Sunshine State “.
“I will also use this medium to commend Governor Aiyedatiwa for suspending programmes already outlined to mark his birthday in honor of the departed SSG”, Dr. Ale added.
