PROMOTE GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT, PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE, ADU URGES NEWLY ELECTED COUNCIL HELMSMEN
A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Ondo state, Dr (Barr) Olumuyiwa Adu a.k.a Cubana has advised the newly elected council officials to promote grassroots development and intergovernmental harmony within the state to justify the mandates freely given to them by the expectant electorate.
Recall that the Ondo state Local Government election was held on the 18th January, 2025 and the ruling party secured a landslide victory across the state, owing to the political strength of the ruling part, the unity among the APC stakeholders, the acceptability of the candidates and the popularity of the Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa- led administration.
Dr Olumuyiwa Adu, who is respected for his intellect, philanthropy and humility had earlier congratulated the winners of the local elections and applauded the ODIEC for their professional handling of the democratic exercise
In an interaction with Daily News correspondents, Dr Adu shared his thoughts on his various interventions, as a private citizen, in politics, education, entrepreneurship, health, power generation, stomach infrastructure, employment opportunities, cultural promotion, among his other laudable initiatives to support the government and humanity.
Dr Adu said, “I believe that whatever good you do today will always come back to you in future. Kindness has rewards from God. I would continue to do the little I can do to add values to my people and my community. Also, this can inspire others who have the means to contribute to the betterment of our society”.
He advised youths on the need to be productive and stay away from crimes and some deviant behaviour.
In his words, “the youth should have productive ideas and constantly maintain good relationships with God to provide a way to accomplish the task. Surprisingly, God will answer in a very miraculous way. If a woman is not pregnant, how can she give birth?”
“Our council leaders should look at how to generate jobs for the teeming and vibrant youthful population and develop the various domains through a life- impactful governance as they are the closest to the people at grassroots”.
Dr Adu opined that smooth and cordial relations among the various tiers of government will ensure smooth deliveries of dividends of democracy to the masses and inputs from people with experience, competence, pleasant demeanour and discipline will catalyse economic advancement of the nation.
” With the calibre of personalities elected under the able leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, Ondo state will be more befitting, peaceful and prosperous” Dr Adu assured.
