ONDO EX-INFORMATION COMMISSIONER AKINLOSOTU LAUDS AIYEDATIWA’S PASSION, STRIDES IN EDUCATION
The immediate past Commissioner for Information in Ondo State, Wale Akinlosotu, has hailed the governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for demonstrating commitment to his electoral promises and giving the people cause to smile.
Akinlosotu who hailed the governor for his passion to the development of education through the giant steps he has taken in the sector within the last one week, said the focus on human capital development was laudable
The former commissioner said in a statement on Monday, “The steps that Governor Aiyedatiwa has taken within one week of his inauguration, starting with education, are commendable. These are a sign of what is to come in the next four years within the context of the governor’s ‘OUR EASE’ developmental agenda.
“Mr Governor means everything he said when he told the people of Ondo State that he was in a hurry to deliver on his promises of rapid development in all sectors of the economy to the people of Ondo State.
“The governor has hit the ground running and within seven days of inauguration, it is new songs on the lips of the people emanating from Governor Aiyedatiwa’s giant strides in the education sector.
“Less than 48 hours after the inauguration for a fresh term of four years, Governor Aiyedatiwa approved the upgrade and conversion of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo to a University of Agriculture and Agribusiness.
“This is a giant leap for the education sector for human capacity development and the governor needs to be commended for this bold initiative.
“Beyond the gains for education, this singular action has far-reaching positive implications for food production and security and by extension boost in the economy of the state”.
Akinlosotu also lauded the governor for the approval last Friday of N633.9million for the payment of 2025 West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) Secondary School Certificate Examination registration fees for 23, 048 public secondary school students in the state.
The former commissioner said that the gesture was a great relief to the parents and guardians of the students as the payment would alleviate their financial burdens.
He also hailed the governor for the appointment on Friday of 1010 new teachers for secondary schools in the state.
Akinlosotu said, “The appointment, which is in fulfilment of the governor’s promise to solve the problem of shortage of teachers in public schools, has, in addition, taken that population of youth out of the labour market.
“Hopes are also high for the appointment of no fewer than 1000 teachers into the primary schools as the final touches are being put into it. The efforts of the governor to revamp the education sector in the state are commendable,” Akinlosotu said.
