ONDO APC DISABILITY GROUP GREETS CHRISTIANS AT EASTER
…Urges Governor Aiyedatiwa to appoint competent Board Chairman for Disability Agency
The All Progressive Congress Political Advancement Network of Persons with Disabilities (APCPANPWD), Ondo State has congratulated Christian faithful on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration.
The group admonished christians to continue to imbibe the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ even beyond Lenten period, and ensure showing love to everyone especially persons with disabilities around them.
The group also commended the administration of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his continued commitment to inclusive governance and the promotion of equity under the OUR EASE agenda of the government.
In a press release issued over the weekend to mark this year’s Easter event, the chairman of the group in Ondo State, Comrade Segun Abimbola encouraged members of the disability community to be steadfast and keep on supporting the Aiyedatiwa administration, believing “that we are going to have a better taste of the dividends of democracy when a competent person is appointed as the Board chairman of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities to drive the desired positive changes we want in disability community”.
“As the State government continues to drive developmental reforms and restructure key agencies for optimal performance, we respectfully appeal to Mr. Governor to prioritize the appointment of a competent, visionary, and inclusive-minded individual with disability to head the Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities”.
“The Agency plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights, driving for quick passage of Ondo State Disability Law, empowerment, and inclusion of persons with disabilities across all sectors”.
“We believe that only a qualified disability right advocate and passionate leader—preferably someone with deep understanding of disability-related issues or lived experience—can effectively champion the policies and programs that will uplift our members and improve their standard of living”.
“As APC members with disabilities, we trust in the Governor’s resolve to ensure that no segment of the society is left behind. The appointment of a capable leader for the Agency will demonstrate the administration’s genuine commitment to social inclusion and strengthen the confidence of PWDs in government”.
“We reiterate our full support for the Aiyedatiwa-led government and pledge our continued contributions and loyalty to the growth and progress of Ondo State”
