
ONDO LG PENSION TRANSITIONAL DEPT COMMENCES VERIFICATION, PRODUCTION OF DIGITAL ID CARDS FOR PENSIONERS

The Local Government Pension Transitional Department in Ondo State will on Monday, May 12, 2025 commence the verification and production of digital identification cards for all Local Government and Primary School pensioners in the state.
This was contained in a circular signed by Dr(Mrs) Mercy Olayinka Femi- Idris, Permanent Secretary of of the Local Government Pension Transitional Department in Akure.
The circular read: “This is to announce to the General Public especially Pensioners on the payment platform of the Local Government pension Transitional Department in Ondo State on Commencement of Production of Identification Cards for Pensioners in the Local Government.
“The Commencement of Production of Digital identification Cards for all the Pensioners in Local Government which is on High Demand would prevent taxing and rating officers of harassing our Senior Citizens, it will also enhance process of identification of Pensioners and prevention of identity theft and fraud.
“The Cards with special Security identity will capture essential information on Local Government Pensioners like; Name of Pensioners, Pensioner Number, Date of birth, Fingerprint impression and Photography.
“The Card will also be printed on durable plastic with Ondo State insignia.
“Pensioners are hereby enjoined to present themselves for Photo Capture, Obtainance of fingerprint impression and Verification of their details contained on Payment Platform through the presentation of National identification Cards and a copy of Pensioner Bank Verification Numbers( BVN) printout.
“Each Pensioner is expected to Come to the Centre Designated for Data Collation in His/Her Local Government Pay points with;
(1) Approval Letter issued by the Local Government Pension Transitional Department
(2) National Identification Card Issued by the National Identity Management Commission,
(3) One Copy of printout of Bank Verification Number (BVN) Containing Personal Information of the Pensioner from the Pensioner’s Banker.
“For the benefit of Pensioners Outside the Shores of Nigeria to participate seamlessly in the special documentation exercise, a Public Portal would be Set up to take primary and secondary Data which includes 5 seconds recording of a live video (as a proof of life) and upload of all necessary documents.

(3) Akoko North-East (Ikare)–Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th May 2025
(4) Akoko South-West (Oka)—Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd May 2025.
Owo Local Government (Owo)–Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th May 2025
Ose Local Government (Ifon)—Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th May 2025
