
ONDO GOVERNMENT BIFURCATES ALALE STOOL AS FIRST ALALE OF ILALE-ILE, OBA MATTHEW FADARE GETS STAFF OF OFFICE
As part of efforts to end the lingering dispute and litigation heralded by the recognition and upgrade of the Minor Chieftaincy Stool of the Alale -Oko to Obaship status, the Ondo State Government has authenticated the bifurcation of the Alale of Idashen stool by presenting Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to Oba Matthew Olaribigbe Fadare as the new Alale of Ilale – Ile.
The State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa who presented the Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the new Alale in Ilale – Ile in Owo Local Government Area, said the event climaxed series of negotiations between indigenes of the old Idashen Owo community and the government, to have two autonomous kingship stools from the single pre – existing stool of the Alale of Idashen.
The Governor disclosed that the Justice CET Ajama Commission of Inquiry on Chieftaincy Matters, had earlier recognised and upgraded the Alale – OKo stool and this has culminated in crisis, jostle and clamour the recognition of the Alale – Ile stool.
According to the Governor, after series of meetings, consultations and negotiations, it was agreed that, to put a lasting solution to the lingering dispute, the Alale of Idashen stool should be bifurcated and the two Obas be moved to grade B.
Aiyedatiwa who was represented by his Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Comrade Bola Taiwo, congratulated the monarch for being the pioneer Alale of Ilale – Ile while urging him to see his appointment as a call to serve his people.
Still advising the Monarch, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged him to use the powers conferred on him to straighten the peace and cohesion of his domain rather than witch-hunt co – contestants and perceived enemies.
He asked for the support of traditional rulers in the state ,to help secure their domains and rid their communities of criminals and miscreants.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Abooluwa Famakinwa, the Governor promised continued commitment to enhancing the position and welfare of traditional rulers in the state, as well as deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
In his address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Comrade Bola Taiwo who was represented by Mr Oladele Adesanmi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, congratulated the Alale and people of Ilale – Ile for realising their age long dream of having their own king to superintend over them.
He urged all aggrieved parties in the Obaship selection process, to shilt their swords, embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and join hands with the new Alale to move Ilale – Ile forward.
In his response, the new Alale of Ilale – Ile, Oba Matthew Olaribigbe Fadare who was full of joy and appreciation, thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for his mandate of ease which he had demonstrated in putting an end to the rotatioal system of Obaship where Ilale – Ile and Ilale – Oko were made to Share a single Crown on rotational basis .
He promised to serve his people with humility, integrity, transparency ,fairness and equity.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Chairman Owo Local Government, Hon. Tope Omolayo joined his voice with that of the Alale and people of Ilale – Ile to thank the Governor for his love and believe in the strength of the traditional institution.
While urging the Governor to continue to embark on meaningfull and impactfull programmes , the Chairman pledged the unalloyed support of the people of Owo Local Government for the Ayedatiwa – led government.
