The Ondo State chapter of the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) has announced key appointments as part of its strategic efforts to bolster support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and reelection bid.
In a statement released by the group’s State Secretary, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus, Akogun Akinwumi Sowore was named the State Legal Adviser, while Mr. Oyewamide Ojo was appointed as the Media Director.
Badmus explained that the appointments are in line with the group’s ongoing mobilisation drive across the state aimed at consolidating support for the President’s administration.
Akogun Akinwumi Sowore, a respected legal practitioner, is the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ondo State. He also previously served as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and was a former local government chairman. Sowore hails from the prominent Sowore family of Kiribo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area.
Commenting on the appointment, the group’s State Director-General, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, lauded the decision, describing Sowore as “the right peg in the right hole,” and affirmed that his track record as a committed team player would further strengthen the GMT’s legal and strategic base.
Speaking on Mr. Oyewamide Ojo’s appointment as Media Director, Ogunleye described the former aide to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a seasoned communication expert, an easy-going personality, and a dependable team player.
He urged the people of Ondo State to remain supportive of President Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing the President’s unwavering commitment to national transformation.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a visionary, courageous, and focused leader. He has a clear roadmap for our dear country.
His path may be tough, but it leads to a prosperous and glorious future,” Ogunleye said.
“His policies and programmes are beginning to yield positive results, and I appeal to Nigerians, especially the people of Ondo State, to continue supporting his renewed hope agenda with faith and patience.”
With these appointments, the Ondo GMT is positioning itself as a formidable grassroots force in the campaign for President Tinubu’s continuity in office.
