The Ruby’s Court Event Centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital radiated elegance and joy as Mrs. Verolious Olayinka Ajongbolo marked her 60th birthday in grand style.
The celebration drew an eclectic mix of media veterans, diplomats, and royalty, who gathered to honour a woman described as a pillar of quiet influence, grace, and unwavering support.
Wife of renowned journalist and former General Manager of Breeze FM Radio Station in Akure, Sunday Ajongbolo, the celebrant received glowing tributes from guests who hailed her as a steady force behind her husband’s illustrious media career and a woman of silent but impactful contributions to society.
There was a strong sense of cultural pride as both the celebrant and her husband are natives of Oka Akoko.
Lending royal splendour to the occasion was the presence of the Olubaka of Oka Land, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, and his Olori.
Distinguished guests included Colonel Roland Olawumi Omowa (Rtd.), former Nigerian Ambassador to the Central African Republic, and Dr. Olusegun V. Ategbole, a respected internist based in Dyersburg, Tennessee, USA.
The event was also a mini-reunion of media greats, such as Paddy Dare, former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adebayo Adefarati and former Managing Director of OSRC; Mr. Sehinde Omokoba, former Director of News and Current Affairs, OSRC; Daisi Ajayi, former CPS to Deputy Governor Ali Olanusi; Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, current Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor; Olusola Obe, veteran Yoruba newscaster; and Alhaji Akinkunmi, former General Manager of Glow FM, among others.
Heartfelt tributes flowed throughout the evening, celebrating Mrs. Ajongbolo’s loyalty, humility, and strength of character.
The evening featured soul-stirring music, prayers, warm speeches, and the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake.
