Stop politicizing Anti Open grazing law, group cautions Benue politicians
Benue Intelligence Watch has blasted the Benue Advocacy Network over a statement credited to its president, Mr. Enoch Ortese that the governor of the State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia had abandoned the existing Anti Open Grazing Law which was passed into law some years ago by the Benue State House of Assembly.
Benue Intelligence Watch which spoke in a press statement signed by its Director of Press, Mr. Sylvester Terna and made available to journalists in Makurdi this afternoon added that those behind the group are enemies of Benue State that are backing terrorists to attack the State further with a plan to put the blame on the governor.
According to Benue Intelligence Watch, Governor Alia’s Spokesperson was misunderstood by a group that is being used by some Benue politicians based in Abuja (Benue Advocacy Network) which misled the public in the media that the governor had abandoned the law.
In a counter statement, Benue Intelligence Watch said that Governor Alia has been doing all to protect the lives and properties of the people of Benue State, noting that the Anti Open Grazing Law is still existing.
The statement reads: “How can anyone say that the governor has canceled the a law that was passed by the State House of Assembly. The law is still existing and the governor hasn’t tampered with it.
“The fact is that there is no government that can eradicate crimes totally in any part of the world. Even in America and Europe, crimes are being recorded daily despite their ability and resources to fight criminals.
Benue Intelligence Watch however called on security agencies to keep a tab on the gladiators behind the Benue Advocacy Network, stressing that they are actually planning to attack Some Benue villages hence their latest media outings where they accused Governor Alia of not implementing the Anti Open Grazing Law.
“They have their plans and that is to prepare a fault for Governor Hyacinth Alia that he isn’t working with the Law which the last Assembly enacted. The Intel available to us show that they want to use their men in the militia to attack Benue villages again and then lie to the people that their governor is unable to protect them. Their minds haven’t left their agitation for an Emergency Rule ” the group said..
Benue Intelligence Watch accused the Abuja-based politicians of using one thing or the other to cause troubles in Benue state anytime the governor is with the President m discussing growth, development and security of the State.
“They have started attacking the governor now that he is in Brazil with President Bola Tinubu where they are discussing Agriculture and other things that he will bring back home to develop Benue State” the group said.
The group however pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to be aware of these so-called stakeholders that are using their closeness to him to cause troubles in Benue state.
