EKITI GOVERNORSHIP HOPEFUL KAYODE OJO URGES SUPPORTERS TO REMAIN CALM DESPITE PROVOCATIONS
…Petitions IGP over alleged attacks on loyalists
Fellow compatriots, loyal supporters and the resilient people of Ekiti,
In the face of recent provocations and unjust intimidation targeted at my supporters across the state, I, Engr. Kayode Ojo, feel compelled to speak to you! not just as a political leader, but as a son of the soil who has always believed in peace, the rule of law and the power of the people.
Over the past days, we have witnessed worrying acts of harassment and undue pressure from certain quarters of government aimed at instilling fear, suppressing dissent and undermining the democratic rights of law abiding citizens. These actions are not only undemocratic, but they strike at the very core of the freedoms we cherish as proud Ekiti citizens.
However, I urge you all: remain calm, remain peaceful, and do not take the law into your own hands. Violence and retaliation are never the answers. Our strength lies in our discipline, in our unity and in our unwavering commitment to justice through lawful and democratic means.
Let it be known that I have personally escalated the matter to the Inspector General of Police, who has given his assurance that the situation is receiving the appropriate attention. I have absolute faith in our security institutions to do the needful and uphold justice without fear or favour.
As a man of peace, my commitment has always been to build, not to destroy; to inspire hope, not to incite fear; to restore dignity, not to breed chaos. That is the path we must continue to walk together.
Let me assure you: the light will shine. At the right time, the voices of the people will rise louder than intimidation. The ballot shall speak, and the oppressors of today will be displaced by the will of the people tomorrow. We will remain firm, unshaken, and focused on our collective vision for a better Ekiti a vision driven by integrity, development and prosperity for all.
Stay strong. Stay peaceful. Stay hopeful.
Together, we shall overcome.
