
DELE PHILIPS MOURNS ALARA OF ARAMOKO-EKITI, OBA OLU ADEGOKE ADEYEMI
A prominent indigene of Aramoko-Ekiti, Mr. Dele Philips has joined his kinsmen in mourning their traditional ruler, Oba Olu Adegoke Adeyemi, the Alara of Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti West local government area of the state.
The traditional ruler bid the world farewell on Friday at the age of 82.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Iyiola Adetola and made available to newsmen, Dele Philips expressed shock over the loss of the traditional authority.
In his words, “I want to state that we never expected this but there is nothing we can do as the Most High determines all situations. Our Kabiyesi had a remarkable reign with total commitment to the welfare of his people as well as promotion of our culture”
“His leadership qualities, application of wisdom and maturity in handling issues affecting indigenes ans residents in general will continue to be a reference point”, Dele Philips said.
He added that the reign of Oba Olu Adegoke Adeyemi was marked by unity, cultural preservation, and steady development.
Born on December 4, 1942, Oba Adeyemi’s life was defined by service in multiple capacities.
He began as a teacher, later rose through the ranks as a senior civil servant, and served as Sole Administrator of the former Ifesowapo Local Government.
His commitment to community growth continued after he ascended the throne in 2009.
During his time as Chancellor of Ekiti State University, the late Oba championed projects aimed at improving educational standards and expanding access for local students.
His tenure as Alara was distinguished by initiatives in conflict resolution, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development, all of which strengthened communal bonds.
Oba Adeyemi’s impact on the community will forever be cherished as testament to his enduring legacies.
