ONDO RETIRED HEADS OF SERVICE, PERMANENT SECRETARIES HOLD END-OF-THE-YEAR GET-TOGETHER
It was a gathering of technocrats who had played significant roles in the governance of Ondo State at one time or the other.
The event was the 2025 End-of-the-Year Get-together and Awards Night of the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Service in the state.
During the well – attended event , very distinguished Elder Statesmen and women, who retired as Directors-General or Permanent Secretaries including the Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye 111, Attorney Omoolorun Modupe ,Pa S.I.Omotola and many others were recognised and honoured for their outstanding contributions to the state civil service and good governance.
In her welcome address, the President of the Association, Mrs. Mojisola Ajayi , said the event was put in place to reflect on the past, observe the present, and project into the future.
While commending the level of cooperation that her executive is receiving from the entire members, she assured that there would continue to be improvement in the day to day runnings of the affairs of the association for an enhanced welfare and mutual benefits to all.
The Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye 111, in his goodwill messsage , expressed joy that the association keeps waxing stronger and relevant in the scheme of things in Ondo State, he applauded members for their past and present contributions to the society at large.
The high point of the get – together was presentation of awards and gifts to some founding members for their foresight aimed at uplifting the welfare of members as well as contributing their quotas to good governance in the state and the society at large.
Some of the Award Winners in the Special Recognition category are the Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye, and the Orungberuwa of Erinje Kingdom , Oba Oladele Akinmoye . While Recognition as Elders went to Attorney Omoolorun Modupe, Alhaji R.O.Oyeneyin, Chief Adewole Atandeyi, High Chief Allen Yanki , Mrs Bike Akinduro and Pastor S.I.Omotola.
Late Dr K.B. Shaba , Mr. Akin Adaramola, Fola Amure,Esq. and Mr.Matthew Imoru, were recognised as Founding members.
The Post humour Awards were presented to Late Dr. Olaiya Oni and Late Dr. Olaoye Adegoke , MFR as the Ist & 2nd Presidents respectively, while Prince Fioye Bajowa ,was recognised as the Association’s 3rd President.
