EKITI PEOPLE DESERVE BETTER GOVERNANCE – RAINBOW COALITION
(Full Speech as delivered by Coordinator, Comrade Owoola Daramola)
My fellow Ekiti people, Great people of Ado-Ekiti,
Distinguished leaders, youths, women, elders,
and compatriots-
Today, we stand together not as members of different parties, but as citizens united by a
Common concern and a shared hope.
We are here because Ekiti people are asking a
simple but powerful question:
“Can we do better than this?”
And the answer is YES. we can, and we must.
WHY WE ARE HERE
This Rainbow Coalition was not formed out of
anger.
It was formed out of responsibility.
Across Ekiti State, people are feeling the pressure:
• families are struggling, young people are searching for opportunity, professionals feel unheard,
• and many citizens feel disconnected from
decisions that affect their lives.
We are here today to say clearly:
Ekiti people deserve better governance, better
leadership, and better results.
A CLEAR MESSAGE
Let me be very clear:
This coalition is not about noise.
It is not about desperation.
It is not about recycling the same politics under a
new name.
This coalition is about restoring choice, accountability, and dignity to governance in Ekiti State.
The 2026 election must not be a coronation.
It must be a contest of ideas, competence, and
character.
ON LEADERSHIP
We have learned from the past.
We will not rush.
We will not impose.
We will not gamble with Ekiti’s future.
Our candidate will be: credible, competent, decided freely and decisively.
A CALL TO EKITI PEOPLE
This movement belongs to you.
Whether you are a farmer or a teacher, a trader or a professional, a student or a retiree, at home or in the diaspora
Let me also say this clearly:
This coalition respects the law.
We respect institutions.
And we expect the same from everyone.
We will not accept manipulation.
We will not accept intimidation.
We will not accept shortcuts that undermine
democracy.
Your voice matters. We ask you to stay
engaged.on
Stay peaceful.
Stay hopeful.
And above all, stay united.
AN OPEN INVITATION
To political leaders,parties, and groups who
believe Ekiti can be better governed:
Ekiti people are watching- and history is watching.
A MESSAGE TO THOSE IN POWER
Power is not an entitlement.
Incumbency is not ownership.
Authority comes from the people and it returns to
the people.
In 2026, Ekiti people Our doors will remain open.
But let it be known that our leader must be legally sound, and capable of uniting Ekiti people across divides.
We are looking for leadership that can govern, not just campaign.
Leadership that can deliver, not just promise.
ON DISCIPLINE AND THE RULE OF LAW
This coalition will be driven by discipline, guided by principle, and focused on results,not opportunism.
CLOSING
My people, This is not the end of the journey – it is the beginning.
A beginning rooted in Courage.
A beginning built on unity.
A beginning powered by the will of the people.
Together, we will offer Ekiti State a real alternative.
Together, we will reclaim confidence in leadership.
Together, we will build a future that works for all.
May God bless Ekiti State. May God bless the people of Ekiti. And may our democracy
grow stronger.
