EKITI LAWMAKER TOPE LONGE VISITS CONSTITUENTS, DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS, CASH GIFTS
…NURTW, RTEAN Members As Well As Keke And Okada Operators Were Not Exempted In Oye Constituency 1
The House of Assembly member representing Oye Constituency One in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Omo’oba Tope Longe, has visited all the wards in Oye Constituency 1 to share the joy of the season with constituents at the event marking the two-day end of year Constituency engagement.
The initiative took the lawmaker to all the six wards in Oye Constituency 1, namely Isan/Ilafon/ìlémèsó Ward, Ayede North, Ayede South/ Itaji, Oye 1, Oye 2 and Ayegbaju wards.
In the yearly gesture to give back to his constituency, Longe presented cash gifts, foodstuff and other items to mark the festive period.
While each of other wards got two bags of rice and N200,000, Oye Ward 1 got two bags of rice and N300,000.
It was not only politicians that received gifts, as the lawmaker also doled out cash gifts to members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) while cash gifts were also given to artisans, market women and youth groups.
Okada and Marwa associations were also part of the gathering, including other organisations, that received foodstuff to celebrate the yuletide.
The traditional institution across the constituency was also not left out of the yuletide celebration, as Longe gave the traditional rulers their due to mark the festive period.
Rendering his account of stewardship at a ceremony attended by huge members of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), including other residents in the wards, the lawmaker thanked his constituents for their continued support for the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and urged them to come out enmasse during the June 20, 2026 gubernatorial election to vote for the governor in his second term bid.
He explained that the peace, infrastructural development and steady progress being witnessed in Ekiti State is as a result of the “continuity in governance and Mr Governor’s shared prosperity for all agenda”.
Several leaders that spoke at the occasion took turns to commend Longe for his sterling perfomance and impeccable representation. The stakeholders also showered encomiums on the lawmaker for making himself accessible to his people.
According to the lawmaker, he holds his mandate in trust for the people and as such, “it is incumbent on him to put smiles on the faces of our people”.
Speaking further, Longe also attributed the successes he had recorded, including employment opportunitues for youths, to the support of the governor, promising to continue to join hands with relevant stakeholders to alleviate the sufferings of the people and put smiles on their faces at all times.
