EKITI RAINBOW COALITION CONDEMNS ALLEGED INTIMIDATION TACTICS BY OYEBANJI ADMINISTRATION
The Ekiti Rainbow Coalition (ERC) has expressed concern about the alleged growing trend of intimidation and harassment of individuals who do not support the incumbent administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
In a statement signed by Comrade Owoola Daramola on behalf of the Coalition, he called for level playing ground for all contestants.
“We strongly condemn the use of the police and thugs to silence critics and opposition voices”.
“Governor Oyebanji should know that Ekiti people will not be intimidated or coerced into supporting his re-election bid. His work as a governor should speak for itself, and he should not rely on force or coercion to secure votes”.
“We warn against any attempt to use force or violence to impose his will on the people of Ekiti. The 2026 election must be a free, fair, and credible exercise, and we will not hesitate to defend the rights of Ekiti people to choose their leaders without fear or intimidation”.
“We urge Governor Oyebanji to focus on delivering good governance and addressing the challenges facing Ekiti people, rather than resorting to intimidation and violence. His legacy will be judged by his actions, not by his rhetoric”.
“The ERC stands in solidarity with all Ekiti citizens who are being targeted for their political views, and we will continue to advocate for a peaceful and democratic process”, he added..
