EKITI CULTURAL, TRADITIONAL PROMOTER CALLS OUT AKURE HOTEL PROPRIETOR OVER POOR SERVICES, CUSTOMER RELATIONS
A traditional and cultural promoter in Ekiti state has called out an Akure hotelier over poor customer relations and poor services.
The woman, a public servant and an internet sensation hails from Ikole-Ekiti and well known to be a passionate traditionalist who navigates the nooks and crannies of Ekiti and Ondo states with the aim of promoting the culture and tradition of the people.
Her Facebook page, Eyeloburin Choir has attracted indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to their roots.
In a Facebook post, the woman alleged that the owner of Genesis Hotel by Ado Motorpark in Akure ejected her despite having paid for accommodation valued at #7,000.
She said altercations started when she attempted to use water and the owner of the hotel came to alert her that the water is not meant for the room she paid for as a ‘short-time’ facility.
The cultural promoter alleged that she was asked to sign out of the hotel by 3.20am.
This was after she observed a high number of bed-bugs in the room she was allocated and decided to ease herself after being uncomfortable in the room.
That was when the proprietor of the hotel reacted negatively to her attempt to get water, claiming that water was only meant for special guests and not those who booked ‘short-time’ facility.
She state that she was in Akure to participate in a popular traditional festival at Ugele in Akure North local government area of Ondo State.
She expressed concern that those supposed to be encouraging tourism and hospitality industry have turned to cogs in the wheel of progress of the sector.
Naijaparrots gathered from the online video that ‘Eyeloburin Choir’ is not just a public servant but a police officer.
She has however vowed to report the hotelier to appropriate authorities, noting that she was neither refunded nor allowed to continue her stay in the facility.
The Woman simply known as Eyeloburin Choir on Facebook has therefore taken to the social media to broadcast to the general public about the alleged poor services and lack of customer relations of Genesis Hotel in Akure.
Efforts to speak with the proprietor of the hotel proved abortive.
