ONDO HOS ODUSANYA HAILS SITA’S AI TRAINING INITIATIVES, PLEDGES COLLABORATION
The Ondo State Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya has commended the
State Information Technology Agency, SITA for initiating the ongoing Artificial Intelligence, AI training for the public servants in the state.
Odusanya gave the commendation on Wednesday at a meeting with the Executive Chairman of the agency, Hon. Tomide Akinribido and the Administrative Secretary, Mr. Segun Akọsile at his office in Akure, the state capital.
While describing SITA as the home-grown ICT training facility for Public Servants in the state, the Head of Service stressed the importance of the agency to achieve the much desired electronic governance which in now the practice globally.
He assured the meeting of the unflinching support of his office for SITA in all its efforts towards the digitilization of governance and the public service operations in the state.
According to him, “SITA is the government agency in charge of ICT and if we are talking about e-governance, we can hardly do anything without its inputs. ”
“This meeting is therefore to appraise what SITA is doing and to see how to collaborate to achieve more towards the digitilization of government activities in the state. We are already working towards that and we hope to achieve more with the collaboration.” He stated.
Earlier in his comments, the SITA Chairman, Akinribido said the meeting was aimed at partnering the office of the Head of Service in fostering electronic governance and digitilization of the Public Service operations to increase efficiency in line with the global trends.
Highlighting some of the activities of the agency, Akinribido said the meeting was also to round off arrangement for ongoing AI readiness capacity building which SITA was undergoing currently under which one thousand public servants are targeted for training.
The chairman, who appreciated the HOS for his support for the ongoing training, expressed optimism that the collaboration with the office of the Head of Service would be sustained for the best interest of good governance in the state.
“We agreed that SITA and the office of the Head of Service will continue to collaborate on using technology to improve the efficiency of civil service operations.” Akinribido emphasized.
On his part, the Administrative Secretary of the agency, Segun Akosile lauded the swift response of the office of the HOS and the enthusiasm of pubic servants to the training as some had promptly subscribed to the training while had even started getting their certificates for the training as at the press time.
