The rate of insecurity in Nigeria is alarming, overwhelming and the architecture security of Nigeria State has collapsed.
The intelligence gathering system is deficient , complete failure of collaboration among the security operating units , low determination and dedication to rescue Nigeria as a result of corrupt nature of the system, coupled with the political will to tackle insecurity has complicated the current security situation.
The first tenure of President Buhari, only six thousand, two hundred of our graduate youths were employed in four years of his first term by the Nigeria Civil Service Commission, whereas , more than twenty thousand have exited the Federal Civil Service Commission either through retirement, retrenchment or death from the Service and embargo was placed on employment by the Federal Government, leaving a gap in the system.
How do we juxtapose the same system turning out graduates in millions yearly from the National Youth Service Scheme. The implication is that in four years, we have turned out four million graduates without providing job opportunities.
The argument of government on some policies such as N-POWER is baseless and fruitless because it is merely an enslavement processes.
I am yet to see the children of Buhari, Osibanjo ,Lawan or Gbajabiamila in the N-POWER scheme. Rather, their children flaunts their wealth around, thereby encouraging younger Nigerians in getting involved in ritual activities, therefore worsening Insecurity in the country.
This is the reason I, Asiwaju Oludotun Adetunberu, a community leader , security scholar and security rights activist call on President Mohammadu Buhari to apologise to Nigerian youths and lift embargo on unemployment so that Nigeria youths can be gainfully employed in better places and put in place a process that will curb Government officials involved in selling employment to poor Nigerians .
One cannot shy away from unnecessary and prolonged industrial conflicts between ASUU leadership and Government representatives handling the negotiation as this as I call on Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Senate President, Senator Lawan to please intervene in the dialogue processes.
I am of the opinion that when students are poorly engaged in their studies , they tend to pursue other means of survival such as internet fraud and rituals and make them more accessible and prone to banditry and terrorist groups. The case of endears protest will keep being fresh in our memory.
The private sector alone cannot drive the employment process and the much-talked about entrepreneurship can only be effective in a peaceful and conducive atmosphere with stable electricity and good governance. It should be noted that the rich are living at the expense of the poor and this may further trigger instability.
I also call on the President Mohammadu Buhari to consider it a positive step towards reducing crime rate by appending his signature on the bill on National Task Force Commission that has scaled through the third reading at the National Assembly. If signed into law, it would enforce reduction in arms proliferation through Importation of arms, ammunition, light weapons, chemical weapons and as well create job opportunities.
Security Adviser to the President should please show more commitment and interest in policies that will enhace the security of Nigerian State because there is an evil wind that is blowing across the west african countries and bad leadership is the major cause.
The negative over bearing influences of our political businessmen in politics should be cautioned. God help our leaders. History will have it on records that few of us called your attention to this evil policies.
