
ACP BAYO ADEOYA: A SHINING EXAMPLE OF EXCELLENCE IN POLICING, LAW ENFORCEMENT
ACP Adebayo Adeoya, a distinguished son of Ekiti State with a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in English has achieved a significant milestone in his career.
On November 31, 2021, he was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police and reassigned from his position as DPO Surulere Lagos, a role he held for over two and a half years.
ACP Adeoya has taken on a new role as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Patrol and Guard, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, within the Department of Operations.
This promotion recognizes his tireless efforts, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence in his field.
As Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Adeoya will oversee the administration of everyday affairs, including criminal and related offenses, and provide expert feedback on departmental strategies and decisions.
ACP Adeoya held this office for approximately one and a half years, during which he actively participated in and occasionally coordinated operations and special duties across various regions of the country, as instructed by higher authorities.
ACP Adeoya’s career took another significant turn when he was transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos.
There, he served as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Special Enquiry Bureau (SEB), for approximately four months.
His next assignment was as the Area Commander of Ibokun, Ibokun Area Command, Osun State, a position he assumed on July 16, 2023.
ACP Adebayo Adeoya, a proud son of Ekiti State began his academic journey at the famous Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti where he studied from 1983 to 1988.
Adebayo Adeoya took a significant step in 1990 when he enrolled at Ondo State University Ado-Ekiti, where he pursued a degree in English.
After seven years of dedication and hard work, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in 1997.
In 1998, ACP Adebayo Adeoya participated in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, serving in Niger State. ACP Adebayo Adeoya embarked on his illustrious career in the Nigeria Police Force on May 1, 2000.
Over the years, he has demonstrated remarkable versatility and dedication, serving in various capacities within the force.
His extensive experience spans multiple roles, including leading the Nigerian Contingent to Sudan as part of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) in 2008 where he eventually became the overall Nigerian Contingent Commander.
Adebayo Adeoya had a distinguished tenure as a Directing Staff at the Central Planning and Training Unit (CPTU), Police Staff College, Jos, from 2007 to 2011, spanning four years.
During this period, he broadened his expertise by attending various courses, ultimately earning his prestigious psc(+) certification.
ACP Adebayo Adeoya has had a distinguished career, serving as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in 17 divisions across 6 different State Commands.
His versatility and dedication to duty have been evident throughout his assignments.
Notably, he served as MOTOPOL in the Oyo State Command from 2011 to 2012, showcasing his ability to take on diverse roles.
ACP Adebayo Adeoya has had a distinguished career, serving as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in multiple divisions across various state commands. Some of his notable postings include:
-DPO Ikolaba GRA Bodija Ibadan, Oyo State Command, where he served in the prestigious Ikolaba GRA area, known for its high-end residences and commercial properties.
-DPO Akungba Akoko, Ondo State Command, where he demonstrated his ability to effectively police diverse communities.
– DPO Akodo, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State Command, showcasing his capacity to maintain law and order in rapidly developing areas.
Prior to his promotion, ACP Adeoya served as DPO Surulere, Lagos State Command. His exceptional service and dedication earned him a promotion to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Throughout his career, ACP Adeoya has proven himself to be a dedicated, proactive, and responsive senior police officer.
