ADEDAPO-AISIDA’S FAMILY INAUGURATES FOUNDATION IN MEMORY OF PATRIARCH
The Family of late Sir Patrick Adedapo-Aisida, on Saturday, inagurated a free medical outreach and educational foundation in honour of their patriarch in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Adedapo-Aisida, a native of Owo, who died in 2024 at 74 years, was known for his philanthropic spirit and contributions to societal growth.
Mrs Olufunke Yusuf, first daughter of the deceased, at the inauguration in Owo, said that the initiative was to preserve and promote their father’s community service and development in the town.
Yusuf explained that the foundation was not only a moment of remembrance, but an opportunity to give back to the community through the free medical outreach.
According to her, the initiative is to preserve his legacy in education and his love for his community.
“Our father used to tell us that he might not leave anything, but he’s giving you the best. That’s the education, which can take you far and wide.
“And he believes that no matter how poor you are as child, as long as you are equipped with good education, you can go far and wide in life.
“So, today, we want to make sure that people who have challenges with finances to further their education, we try and see what we can do.
“And also provide free healthcare as well. Just basic healthcare, just to make sure that people are being helped,” she said.
Similarly, Mrs Morolake Adeniyi, also a daughter of Adedapo-Aisida, described her father as an icon, and said he was an educationist who would go to any length to support people to get educated.
”So we just thought of what we can do to immortalise this man, what we can do to preserve his legacy and we arrived at this,” she said.
Earlier, Mr Dupe Aisida, Guest Speaker and brother of the deceased, described him as a philanthropist in the educational sector, and commended the children for setting up the foundation in the health and educational sector.
He, therefore, urged the children and friends to continue in the dream their late father believed in when he was alive.
Also, Dr Isaac Aladeniyi, Director, Family Health, Ondo State Ministry of Health, commended the children for taking a bold step with the role of philanthropy and human capital development.
According to Aladeseyi, a life lived for others is a life well lived, while the rich should investment in people, as it could even impact their own future.
Chief Rotimi Ibidapo, Chairman of the occasion, represented by Mrs khadijat Eniolorunda, said that the legacy of Adedapo-Aisida was not erased.
He, however, called on those present and people that believed in the cause of philanthropy, to support the children and help build on the legacy of Adedapo-Aisida.
Educational materials were presented to students present and the outreach included various medical checks-ups with distribution of drugs.
