
AGBAJOWO FOUNDATION EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE IN IDOWU AJANAKU’S CAPABILITY TO SERVE AS COMMISSIONER IN ONDO STATE
A socio-cultural organisation has expressed confidence in the ability of a renowned journalist and media strategist, Idowu Ajanaku to make a difference as public servant in Ondo State.
The Foundation says the Idogun-born cerebral and passionate contributor to human and societal development is fit to to play significant roles in ensuring that Aiyedatiwa succeeds in office.
This was contained in a statement signed by its Spokesman, Seun Adetola and made available to newsmen in Akure.
The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa nominated the award-winning journalist and media consultant, Idowu Ajanaku as a commissioner on June 12, 2025.
Ajanaku and names of other 11 nominees were forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening and possible confirmation by the Lawmakers.
Ajanaku, from Idogun in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State was a former Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to former Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode.
He was also Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Affairs to former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola,SAN.
He was the spokesperson of Akeredolu/Akintelure Governorship Campaign Organization in 2012 under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and also served in the media directorate of the Late Governor Akeredolu in 2020 Governorship Campaign.
While Governor Aiyedatiwa did not attach a portfolio or ministry to the new nominees, Ajanaku is expected to be appointed as the Commissioner for Information in the state.
Mr. Ajanaku, a multiple award-winning journalist and political strategist until his elevation was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Strategy. He is expected to use his wealth of experience to promote Aiyedatiwa’s administration having worked with the Vanguard and the Guardian Newspapers for over one and half decades.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and International Studies from the Lagos State University (LASU) and a Masters degree in History and Strategic Studies from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG). He is also a fellow of Martin Luther King Center for Leadership.
