AIYEDATIWA JOINS ISIKAN COMMUNITY IN CELEBRATING ANNUAL DAY

The Isikan community, headquarters of Akure West LCDA, was filled with excitement and joy on Saturday as they celebrated their annual Isikan Day in grand style.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, joined in the celebration, represented by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barr. Gbenga Olaniyi.
In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the Isinkan Monarch’s peaceful approach to issues.
He commended the community’s unity and development efforts, urging other communities in the state to emulate their example.
The Governor noted that the Isikan community’s commitment to peace, harmony, and development was a shining example for others to follow.
He emphasized the importance of communal projects and encouraged communities to join hands with the government in ensuring the security of their domains.
Aiyedatiwa also promised to support the community’s development initiatives, including the construction of a civic center, and assured them of his administration’s commitment to their progress and well-being.
The governor expressed his delight that the institution of Obaship in the domain had become a rallying point for social, economic, and political mobilization and emancipation of the Isikan people.
Dignitaries at the event included Engr. Tunji Ariyomo, Oba Abiodun Mulatto, Oba Festus Olumoyegun, Oba Edward Osalade II, Prince Ademola Adekanbi, and Oba Niyi Agunbiade.
The celebration featured a range of activities, including cultural performances, traditional dances, and a showcase of the community’s vibrant culture and traditions. And as the festivities came to a close, it was clear that the true strength of Isikan lay not in its individual achievements, but in the collective spirit of its people.
