
AIYEDATIWA WILL CONTINUE TO PRIORITISE TRADITIONAL RULERS’ WELFARE – AMIDU TAKURO
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro has spelt out priorities of the Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa led administration as; well-being, comfort and development of the people.
Takuro made this statement in his office on assumption of office after being sworn in as Commissioner by the Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
In his words, the newly sworn in Commissioner said it is a rare privilege to have Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as Governor of Ondo State, as he means well for the State and will make it cynosure of all eyes.
He added that his job as Commissioner is to be the Governor’s eyes in the Ministry and help him achieve his mandate.
While promising to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Governor, Takuro who said he saw his appointment as a call to service, said
he would do all that he is assigned to do, with the whole of his heart and being.
Takuro opined that the government has great faith and respect for the traditional institution and would partner it to bring development to the grassroots, while promising that the welfare of traditional rulers will be enhanced.
He said his Ministry will monitor the Local Government to ensure they become more efficient and funds released to them are judiciously used to better the lots of the people at the grassroots.
The Local Government and Chieftaincy Commissioner begged the people to continually pray for the Governor that the spirit of excellence would rest upon him and make him the best among his equals.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry , Mr Dele Adesanmi welcomed the Commissioner on behalf of the Management and Staff of the Ministry, prayed for him to succeed in the mandate given him, promised the unalloyed loyalty and dedication of all members of staff.
A former preesident of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association’s in Nigeria (FOMWAN) an advisor and Chairperson Community Development and Humanitarian services FOMWAN, Ondo State, Alhaja Rafat Momoh who joined the welcome party with other members of FOMWAN to welcome the Commissioner in his office , thanked and congratulated the Governor for appointing Alhaji Amidu Takuro, who she described as a man with sterling qualities.
Alhaja Momoh highlighted some of these qualities to include; fear of God, uprightness, honesty, transparency, accountability, humility, patience, resourcefulness amongst others, said the choice of Amidu Takuro as commissioner was the best thing that happened to the State as the Governor can go to sleep with his eyes closed.
The current President FOMWAN, Alhaja Medinat Omikunle who led the team to pray for the Commissioner, described Takuro as a man of God who would not let the Governor down, vouching that he would do the Governor and the State proud.
Earlier at a reception organized in honour of the Commissioner, the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Sheik Dr Abdulhakeem Yayi — Akorede thanked the Governor for the call to Appoint Alhaji Amidu Takuro as Commissioner, passed a vote of confidence in him, that he would deliver beyond expectations.
Alhaji Yayi Akorede prayed for the Governor and his team, that the spirit of excellence will come upon them and surround them with good people with the right intentions, to enable them deliver on their mandate.
