AIYEDATIWA WON’T BE DISTRACTED BY ANTICS, BLACKMAIL OF OPPOSITION – AKINLOSOTU
“Even the blind can see that the person in the viral video is not Mr Governor”
Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress candidate in the November 16 governorship election, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is focussed on the development of the state and improvement of the welfare of the people.
Information Commissioner, Wale Akinlosotu, said that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to growth and transformation of the state was a duty which he would not be distracted from.
The commissioner said that plots and lies of the opposition to tarnish the image of the governor would always crumble like packs of cards as well-meaning Ondo State people and indeed Nigerians at home and abroad are wise enough to discern the opposition’s falsehood.
Akinlosotu, who in a statement in Akure on Monday, reacted to a viral video of molestation involving a man and a woman, said that describing the person in the video as Aiyedatiwa despite not having any resemblance showed how malicious the opposition in the state could be.
He stated, “Even the blind can see that there is no resemblance between the person in the viral video and Governor Aiyedatiwa. The opposition has failed in that regards once again as Ondo State people and Nigerians know that the opposition’s claim that the person in the video is Governor Aiyedatiwa is not true.
“The individuals and groups, who did the photoshop or mischief with the intention of distorting reality to defame the governor, did it in a hurry that people can see it is not Mr Governor. It is another failed attempt of the opposition. It is clear the person in the video is not Mr Governor.
“This has further exposed the opposition as individuals and groups that cannot be trusted as they will always manipulate facts and figures to deceive the innocent citizens at any given opportunity.
“The fear and worries in the camps of the opposition are mounting daily with the growing love that is being shown to Mr Governor by the people of Ondo State and the increasing support for his second term bid, hence the opposition’s resort to change tactics. They will all crumble.
“Since he assumed office, Mr Governor has been around attending to the needs of Ondo State and her citizens. He is forging ahead and not distracted by the efforts of the opposition to deprive the state of the life-transforming programmes, projects and policies which the state will witness during the second term.
“The governor, who is committed to the plight of people of the state, has graciously approved N73,000 minimum wage for Ondo State workers. This will better the lot of the workers and their families. The money would be spent in our markets, thus positively impacting on the economy of the state.
“In the last 10 months, the Governor Aiyedatiwa administration has initiated several important projects. The government has taken significant strides in the agricultural sector, boosting food production across the state.
“The Aiyedatiwa administration also approved over a billion naira for land clearing and launched various rural road construction projects to facilitate farmers’ activities and improve productivity in rural areas to ensure food security.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has been committed to enhancing security, improving the health and education sectors, and as well changing the fortunes of workers, pensioners, youth and the private sector for better.
“The governor is committed to all these and many more. He cannot and will not be distracted by anything including the blackmail and antics of the opposition”, Akinlosotu said.
