The Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu has joined the voices canvassing for the importance of Permanent Voter Card in ensuring good governance in the country.
The Special Adviser who was speaking with newsmen at the 2nd Edition of Catholic Economic Summit held in Akure the Ondo State capital emphasized that PVC remains the only tool required to elect credible leaders that can effect good leadership aimed at benefitting the generality of the populace.
She stressed that Independent National Electoral Commission has injected a degree of innovation into the democratic process with the aid of advanced technology as propelled by the federal government and expressed the hope that votes of the people will count.
Ademosu who called on community leaders as well as heads of various socio-cultural organizations to play their part in enlightening eligible voters on the place of voter cards in deciding who could be trusted with the mandate of the people called on those who are yet to collect their PVC to use the opportunity created by INEC to register and collect their cards.
The Special Adviser who condemned vote-buying which many political leaders have embraced lamented that many of the voters are accomplices by encouraging what has found its way into the nation’s democratic process.
Ademosu added that the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Relations which she heads had since embarked on numerous intra-city enlightenment programmes that are today yielding positive results.
