

The Ondo State Government has again expressed the readiness to work with relevant organizations in the process of engaging youths in the state.
The special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu was speaking at the training of Master Crafts Persons under the N-Skills Programme in Akure the Ondo State capital.
Ademosu who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Social Investment Programmes, Barrister Felix Alonge said the state government has always created enabling and conducive environment for interventionist programmes to be successful and impactful.


The programme is a component of the Social Investment Programme of the federal government and spearheaded by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
Dr. (Mrs) Ademosu said the programmes carried out under the Social Investment Programme have continued to transform the lives of the beneficiaries who have been contributing to socio-economic and political existence of the state and the country.
The special adviser who made reference to the N-power, N-Tech, N-Build, N-Teach and N-Agric therefore urged the participants to avail themselves of the opportunity created by both the state and federal governments to move to their next level in life.
Under the arrangement, 6,475 youths selected from the 36 States of the Federation and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would be trained on N-Skills across 36 States, FCT which is expected to meet the minimum technical and business requirements for certification by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).


It is also aimed at enhancing their entrepreneurial competences and business management skills.
No fewer than 45 master-trainers were engaged across the eighteen local government areas of the state to be involved in various artisanship trainings which include automech and vulcanizing,
welding and fabrication,
garment making and tailoring,
catering and baking,
GSM repairs and
smart devices repairs.
The strategy which was piloted with smart phone repairs is part of the ongoing national aspirations of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.
