The Center for Gender and Social Policy Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has honoured the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu for her contributions to humanity and productive activities that have advanced women empowerment and equity at all levels.
It was in recognition of significant roles she has been playing in ensuring the growth of younger generations by coordinating about 16,000 N-Power participants across the eighteen local government areas of the state.
The honour is also not unconnected to the success stories of other social investment programmes which include Youth Employment and Social Support Operations (YESSO) which has equally imparted on the less privileged youths across the state.
The Keynote Speaker at the event, Professor Morenike Ukpong emphasized the need for all public officers to always justify the confidence reposed in them by government and the people.
In the address themed Gender Equality and Sustainable Development, Professor Ukpong expressed happiness that the women honoured by the center had and still making their mark in ensuring societal and human development in the country.
Responding, Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu said structures and processes that would achieve positive results was put in place with synergized operations that made her office record successes in the implementation of the social investment programmes of the federal government.
She said goal 5 of the SDGs is aimed at achieving gender equality and empowerment of women and girls and therefore tasked women to be economically independent.
Other women honoured at the event include Chief(Mrs) Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, Honourable (Princess) Omowumi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole and Chief (Mrs) Olajumoke Abegunde.
