Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, the State Publicity Secretary of PDP, in a statement said the party unanimously approved a 20-man committee set up at Akoko North East/ Akoko North West Federal Constituency to nominate a consensus candidate for the purposes of the forthcoming bye-election.
At a joint meeting of the SWC and six of the aspirants who earlier indicated interest to participate in the bye-election, it was resolved that the 20-man committee report which rated Olalekan Bada as number one should be sponsored by the party for the bye-election February, 2024.
HE SAID THE party believes that IT should profit from MEMBERS experience in which the nomination process to replace Omolafe Adedayo IN AKURE NORTH AN SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY ended in a rancorous primary election that badly fragmented THE party .
HE ADDED THAT Party leaders in Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency should rally support for the party’S candidate and ensure that THE party becomes victorious in the bye-election.
