A social-political group in Ondo State, Akoko North Intellectual Youths Movement (ANIYOM) has inaugurated its pioneer Executive officers to pilot its affairs.
The Executives are Amb. Abiola Mayowa Adojutelegan Dark Mayor, President; Comrade Arowolo Amisu Tosin, Secretary; Comrade Bakare Ibrahim Makonjuola Abobo, Coordinator Akoko North West; Comrade Ayejuyo Temitayo Moyen,Treasurer; Comrade Wesco Coordinator Akoko North East; and Hon. Opeyemi, Financial Secretary.
ANIYOM has members across Akoko North West and North East Local government areas with different intellectual organizations which includes; NACAS (National congress of Akoko Students), NYC (Nigeria youth council), AYF (Akoko youth Forum), All indigenous youths and All indigenous students.
Others are, None indigenous youths (Igbo, Hausa, Ebira, and Fulani), Political youths (APC, PDP, SDP and other political parties), Special people, Youths in agricuture, SPW (Special work programme), NULGE (National Union of Local Government Employees) and NUT (Nigeria Union of Teachers).
The Convener who is a foremost youth administrator in Ondo state, Evangelist Olumuyiwa Asagunla, Odofin Ogboye of Afa Okeagbe Akoko urged the new executives to remain focused.
According to him, so many groups were subsumed under ANIYOM, saying the rationale behind the political convergence is to ensure quality representation and elevate the status of the electorate.
Asagunla noted that though the country is currently in a state of comatose, urging the youths to rise to the challenge by rebuffing the idea of vote buying, violence and other societal malaise.
“The decision to formally inaugurate ANIYOM is to bring all Youths together in Akoko North to prove to everyone that the youths have possessed the much needed potentials to contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of the area”, he stressed.
In his acceptance speech, Amb. Abiola Mayowa Adojutelegan Dark Mayor, President of ANIYOM thanked the Concener, Hon, (Chief) Muyiwa Asagunla for his initiative to bring the youths together in Akoko North Federal Constituency saying that the new executive will continue to champion the course and vision of the group.
In his Keynote address, a Public Affairs Analyst, Mr. Charles Olusa, stated that only politics devoid of acrimony and animosity would theoretically enhance the level of political participation in the country.
Olusa, however, advocated for remodeling of political institutions and subtly appealed to the Government to come up with many life-changing policies.
However, HRM OBA Adeleke Adegbite-Adedoyin II, the Owa-Ale of Ikare Akoko was honoured as Grand Patron of the group while Prof. Gloria Awa-Momodu, Olori Akala of Ikaram is the Matron.
Others honoured include Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Chief Adviser), Hon. Julianna Adebunmi Osadahun, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development (Adviser), Pastor Musa Aliu (Afromosco), Spiritual Adviser and Barr. Prince Adebobola (Legal Adviser).
In her response on behalf of others, Prof. Gloria Awa-Momodu, Olori Akala of Ikaram thanked the leadership of ANIYOM for finding them qualified for the honour.
She commended the group’s various activities especially their determination to make life meaningful for the people of the area.
She therefore promised to assist the group in the best way she could to actualise its dreams.
