Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has again assured women of more opportunities in his government.
The governor was speaking at the grand finale of Community Engagement Outreach of O’datiwa women initiatives led by Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Seun Osamaye in Akure.
The visit to all the eighteen local government areas in Ondo State is to engage women on government policies and identify their needs for immediate attention.
It was a surprise for Akure women as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa unexpectedly stormed Akure city hall to identify with the gathering during O’datiwa women initiatives engagement outreach in the state capital.
The governor danced into the large crowd to show his appreciation for their support since he was sworn in as governor.
Governor Aiyedatiwa said the women have demonstrated that they are in love with his administration and assured of his determination to ensure that they keep benefitting from the various programmes of his administration.
In his words, “It is evident that you believe in this administration because the government is gender- sensitive. You should mobilise yourselves and vote enmasse for the All Progressives Congress in next month’s election”.
Governor Aiyedatiwa who could not hide his joy thanked the ruggedness of Seun Osamaye’s team and the loyalty to his administration and assured them of more engagement and initiatives that will benefit all and sundry.
He called on them to keep spreading the message of hope as their role is crucial in the approaching November poll.
Convener of the Initiatives who also doubles as Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye lauded the level of cooperation received from the women since the programme began, saying over 18000 women have been engaged.
She said “the crowd here has shown that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is accepted by Ondo State women and they have shown that with their population here. We have identified the various challenges being faced by our people and solutions are being proffered to them”.
The team was at the palace of Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi where The monarch commended their efforts and called for peace before, during and after the election.
The engagement outreach is geared towards involving more women in benefitting from the various policies and programmes of the present administration in the state.
