AKURE NIEEE CONFERS FELLOWSHIP AWARD ON CHAIRMAN, ENGR ADEDOKUN ADEYONU
The Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Akure Chapter, Engr. Adedokun Adeyemi Adeyonu, has been conferred with the *Fellowship of the Institute*.
The conferment took place on Saturday, 21st February 2026, at the investiture ceremony of the 22nd President of the Institute held in Lagos.

Engr. Adedokun Adeyemi Adeyonu, MNSE, MNIEEE, is a seasoned electrical and electronic engineer, project management professional, and respected leader whose career is marked by competence, integrity, and service. As Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Akure Chapter, he has continued to promote professionalism, ethical practice, and capacity development within the engineering community.
Born on *July 1* into the *Jegun Abesoko royal dynasty of Odololo, Ile-Oluji*, he is a proud son of Ile-Oluji Kingdom and the son of *Mrs. Felicia Adeyonu* and the late *Chief Ebenezer Adeyonu Ademukolu*. His early upbringing shaped his values of discipline, diligence, and commitment to service, qualities that define his professional and civic life.
Engr. Adeyonu holds a *Master of Technology in Project Management Technology* from the *Federal University of Technology, Akure*. He earned a *Bachelor of Engineering* and a *Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering*. He is a registered engineer with the *Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)* and a member of the *Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)*, the *Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE)*, the *Nigerian Institute of Procurement Engineers*, and the *International Association of Engineers*.
With over two decades of professional experience, he has made significant contributions to public service and donor-assisted development programmes. He currently serves as *Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist* with the *Ondo State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project*, a World Bank and AFD-assisted initiative valued at about *600 million United States dollars*. In this role, he provides leadership in performance monitoring, impact assessment, and community engagement.
He previously served as *Management Information System Specialist* with the *Ondo State Community and Social Development Project*, a World Bank-assisted programme of about *54 million United States dollars*, where he strengthened data systems, accountability, and project delivery. He is also a *Director at the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission*.
Within the engineering profession, Engr. Adeyonu has served in several leadership roles in NIEEE and NSE, including *Deputy Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Technical Secretary, and Membership Drive Secretary*. He is a *National Inspector for COREN* and a committed mentor to young engineers.
A devout Christian and ordained minister of the *Redeemed Christian Church of God*, he is deeply involved in community development and youth empowerment. He is the pioneer *President of the Oijefon Youth Council of Ile-Oluji Kingdom* and the *General Secretary of Ile-Oluji Indigenes in Public Service*.
