
AKURE SOUTH COUNCIL BOSS GBENGA FASUA RENAMES BUILDING AFTER LATE SSG TEMITAYO OLUWATUYI TUYKANA
Hon Gbenga Timothy Fasua, the chairman of the Akure-South local government, has officially renamed the prominent Abuja Building to honour the late Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, widely known as Tuykana.
This decisive action follows the unanimous passage of a bill by the local government legislature, aimed at cementing Tuykana’s significant legacy within the community.
Hon Fasua emphasized the critical need to recognize Tuykana’s substantial contributions and unwavering dedication to public service.
He asserted that this renaming is not just a formality but a powerful tribute to the impactful work and values Tuykana represented throughout his life.
The ceremony is designed to strengthen community bonds and serve as an inspiration for future generations to engage actively and positively in societal contributions.
The ceremony was attended by key figures such as Mrs Ruth Oluwatuyi, the widow of the late Hon Tuykana, Chief Fulani Samuel (representing the Deji of Akure Kingdom), Mrs Oluwadare (representing the SSG), Yeye Oge of Akure, Oba Anthony Ejide Olawalade, Olujoka of Ijoka, Hon Adebayo Ayodele, the Vice-Chairman of Akure-South, and numerous other dignitaries—including Hon Adeola Fynch Secretary Akure-South, Mrs Modupe Omoloja Head of local government, Hon Idowu Otetubi, Hon Festus Aregbesola, Hon Tony Ala, Hon Lekan Falade, and all Akure-South councillors—reinforces the community’s commitment to honour and remember its leaders. Pa Samuel B. Akerele, Chairman of the Elders Forum of Ondo State, and Hon Omowumi Olatunji, Former Commissioner for Women Affairs, also lent their presence to this important occasion.
