AKURE SOUTH LG BOSS, GBENGA FASUA CHARGES ITF TRAINING PARTICIPANTS ON TOTAL COMMITMENT
…Says The 8-Week Programme Would Not Only Lead To Skill Improvement But Also Certification To Boost Trades Of No Fewer Than 2,000 Artisans
The Chairman of Transition committee of Akure South local government, Hon. Gbenga Fasua has called on participants at the second phase of the Skill Up Artisans Programme to take advantage of the opportunity.
Fasua who was addressing a large number of youths and artisans at the Akure South Local Government Secretariat emphasized that the development is part of the efforts of government to impart positively on the lives of the people.
The council boss stated that the present administration in Ondo State led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has put in place the required structures to enable small and medium scale businesses.
Fasua charged the artisans to leverage on the opportunity which he said would lead to adequate training as well as certification.
Area Manager of Industrial Training Fund, Rahufu Suleman said the training is crucial for Nigeria’s sustainable economic development and technological advancement.
Suleman noted that the second phase of the Skill up artisans is aimed at empowering artisans through technology-enabled training, licensing, and industry standard promotion.
The Area Manager encouraged artisans to take advantage of the training programmes and follow the required protocols.
Representative of the Technical Training Institute, John Kolawole emphasized the proper preparation for the training, urging all artisans to maximize the benefits of the programme.
The beneficiaries expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the training and collaborative efforts.
The criteria for selection include being a Nigerian national and having registered on the registration portal of the Programme.
The Skill up program is a long-term initiative with subsequent phases planned.
No fewer than 2,000 artisans are to benefit from the programme expected to last for eight weeks.
